Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, it was recorded in the late summer of 1966 during early sessions for what would become their Between the Buttons album. This is a new author for me and I am thrilled to say I loved it and have added all his backlist to my tbr. Like quite a few of its predecessors, the narrative alternates between two time frames and locations. It is then that Hartley is initially subtly and then a bit more forcefully questioned about the young woman who lives upstairs from him in the penthouse, Alice Poole.Once he identifies himself to them, they escort him inside and kindly ask to come into his apartment with him.

Banks and his team have to start from zero; the body, though only a few years in the ground, is not identifiable and doesn't match anyone who was ever reported missing. Brooks places the epicenter of the Bigfoot war in a high-tech hideaway populated by the kind of people you might find in a Jurassic Park franchise: the schmo who doesn’t know how to do much of anything but tries anyway, the well-intentioned bleeding heart, the know-it-all intellectual who turns out to know the wrong things, the immigrant with a tough backstory and an instinct for survival.

While they wait for the rest of the dig to be investigated to ensure no other bodies are found there, Banks waits for forensic information on the skull to come back with an ETA on how long it may have been there. I wondered if Mr Robinson had presentiment a of his death and if he’s already had some mini strokes. It mentions the Yorkshire Ripper, Archaeology, politics, corruption assumed idenities, familial dna to solve who the bones are from. After getting his BA Honours Degree in English Literature at the University of Leeds, he came to Canada and took his MA in English and Creative Writing at the University of Windsor, with Joyce Carol Oates as his tutor, then a PhD in English at York University.
