About this deal

As we gradually follow the unravelling of the mystery at the heart of Catherine's life, we travel with her on a journey of discovery that forces her to confront and come to terms with her darkest memories. That said, there are two authors who always manage to make me shed a tear or two (or ten) and one of them is Louise Beech, who just seems to have this uncanny knack of pulling at my heartstrings until I need a stiff drink. Then, the less dense minerals such as anorthositic plagioclase feldspar crystallized and floated to the magma surface forming an anorthosite crust. It really draws you in from the first page and gets inside your mind so that you are constantly thinking about it even when you aren’t reading it.

Obviously her upbringing has had its effects on her and then there are some strange things about Catherine. Fortunately I have now joined the long line of fans for this book and have been recommending it to everyone who will listen! I've been a huge fan of Louise Beech's work since reading her debut "How To Be Brave", but in "Maria In The Moon" she's outdone herself. Most of us by the age of thirty two would hope to know who we are and be comfortable to a certain extent with that. As the repressed memories from Catherine’s childhood come to the surface, you get a sense of hope, which I believe is what this story is about.
