About this deal

That's a direct quote from the book) and then I'd pull out a different puppet from the box and bring it to life for a few seconds. And I couldn't say no to the animal charity where I got my dog from, when they asked me to stick it on my rear screen window.

Be prepared for lots of enthusiastic yelps from the toddlers reading along, when they spot what looks like an elephant trunk or tiger paws peeking out from beneath!

We don't want to give anything away, but that's the pet Ben has at home too, so that last flap was really exciting to open. It's packed full of activities, colouring-in and games which are specially designed for preschoolers. Rod Campbell's classic lift-the-flap book Dear Zoo has been a firm favourite with toddlers and parents alike ever since it was first published in 1982.

Dear Zoo Noisy Book | BookTrust

With bright, bold artwork, catchy repetition, and a whole host of favourite animals, Dear Zoo is a must for every child's bookshelf, and the thick card pages, chunky cased golden cover and sturdy flaps make it perfect for small hands. It is his most famous work, and thirty-five years later, it is still tremendously popular among the under fives in Great Britain, and has been translated into more than a dozen different languages. As children lift the flaps to discover the seven creatures from the zoo that would make problematic pets, they will delight in pressing the buttons to create the correct accompanying animal noise, whether it is a hiss, roar or a ribbit. Is it a bit hypocritical of me to be endorsing this book, based on my ethical beliefs that animals are not toys to be swapped, sold on, imprisoned or treated as inanimate objects, blah, blah, blah.

Campbell, Rod | BookTrust

This appealing story, in lift-the-flap, board-book format has been a favourite with toddlers ever since it was first published in 1982. Thật là cảm ơn tác giả kiêm họa sĩ Rod Campbell và quý nhà đồng xuất bản đã đem đến cho chúng tớ một quyển sách cưng hết phần các quyển khác. Its much more fun when you're "reading" this with babies and toddlers and using something fun, furry and soft. His eyes kind of wandered away from the story which I could take to mean he was ready for his morning nap or that he would have liked another page for each animal showing how they were too fierce or too scary. There is a colouring book, where children find the animals hiding beneath the flaps and colour them in, and an activity book, including 40 stickers.

and just as in the original book, the opposite page shows a mysterious “something”, hidden in a crate. With bright, bold artwork, a catchy refrain and eight animal noises, the Dear Zoo Noisy Book is sure to keep toddlers entertained for hours - perfect for joining in! The hungry mouse likes eating cheese, the rabbit likes carrots and the monkey likes bananas, but what about the hungry tiger? The children at my nursery really loved the interactive ‘lift the flap’ element and would ask for this book to be read to them again and again. Lift-the-flaps and press the 8 interactive sound buttons to see what the zoo has sent: the perfect pet - in the end!
