About this deal

Some traveled from other countries just to watch my open-heart surgeries; it made me feel like a superstar and a freak at the same time. Beatrice (Nana) Darker is the successful author and illustrator of the bestselling children’s book, “Daisy Darker’s Little Secret. S. Geological Survey, leading to “immediate suspension of the National Volcano Early Warning System,” and there’s always someone around looking to monetize the natural disaster and the sasquatch-y onslaught that follows. It was not a typical Alice Feeney and there was one aspect of the book that I was really not expecting.

To share any more of the plot would spoil this wonderful mystery but I would like to leave you with a taste of Ms. If this all sounds a little like Agatha Christie’s bestseller And Then There Were None, that’s probably no accident. This is my favorite book of 2022 so far and something superbly jaw-dropping would have to come along to change that, I think. I thought the father was such a bastard (excuse my French) for abandoning Daisy so many times because of her “broken heart”, and the mother… don’t even get me started. There was so much about this that I loved, from the classic-feeling mystery vibe, to the over-the-top family drama, bad-acting characters and claustrophobic setting.

For Daisy Darker, however, it’s an opportunity to reconnect with her family and, perhaps, to find out the truth.I might not have much in terms of material possessions, but that sort of thing never really mattered to me. She has been part of several best-selling anthologies, featured on prominent sites such as Huffington Post, In the Powder Room and BlogHer, and loves her role as the Executive VP/Operations Manager of The BlogU Conference. In between the murders, the group discovers old home videotapes accompanied by the messages “WATCH ME,” “NOTICE ME,” “SEE ME,” and “HEAR ME. Instead we get scant mentions of the surroundings at the outset, which are soon lost in a swarm of interpersonal squabbles between Daisy and her older sisters, Rose and Lily. When I read a book, my eyes are darting all over the page so to be truly surprised, I like listening to the audiobook.Daisy Darker, the narrator, was born with a heart condition and was told she wouldn’t live past the age of 15. This can be an effective storytelling device, but in this case, waiting for the private investigator heroine to get to where the reader is at the beginning of the story feels interminable. A beautifully written, suspenseful, and twisty tale told through Daisy’s eyes… Alice Feeney has outdone herself here. Some people aren’t capable of seeing the beauty in imperfection, but I always loved my nana, my parents, and my sisters. Every couple of years during my slightly dysfunctional childhood, doctors would take it in turns to open me up again, have a look inside, and do a few repairs.
