The Skull has been revealed among the cards of an opponent: the challenger shuffles his cards and places them face down. The opponent randomly selects, without touching it, one card to be discarded. That card is placed in the middle of the table and remains hidden. Play the challenge. Once a challenge has been issued, no new cards may be placed by any player. Players must choose to raise the number of cards or pass. If a player passes, their turn is skipped until the challenge has been resolved. Once all but one player passes or a player chooses to call out the maximum number of cards, that player must resolve the challenge. If you cannot place down another card, you must issue a challenge.In some circumstances, a player might find themselves with only one card left. If it is a skull, then if they later become the Challenger, they have no choice but to turn it over and eliminate themselves. The only way they can win in this situation is via the rare point made above, in which they are the last player standing. It’s extremely unlikely they would make it this far without getting caught out, but it’s worth noting, should it arise! There is one final thing to remember, but it’s not always likely to occur in games of Skull. In rare occasions, no player is able to triumph by winning two rounds, due to copious numbers of skulls thwarting attempts. It is possible to instead win by being the last player standing, because everyone else has lost their cards… But like we say, this is rare! In all cases, the challenger will remain the only one to know if the discarded card is a Skull or a Rose. There's not much in the box, either. Just four beermat-like tiles bearing the skull and flower symbols for each player and some rules.
