About this deal

I liked the format of using police reports and various interview transcripts for the main text; it's a realistic device that adds to the clinical, almost sterile accounts of "the incident." It also kind of makes the story a little more creepy.

[8] For example, Swagger's escape was filmed in New Westminster along the Fraser River, standing in for the Delaware River. The car chase that ends when it plunged into the river was filmed down 6th Street and off the Westminster Quay. The following scene of Swagger clinging to the side of a dredger was also filmed on the Fraser River near the Pattullo Bridge. Dee Wallace as Katherine Mansfield, the long-time former mission planner for Atlas who is now forced to reside in a mental institution (season 3) I really enjoyed this and couldn't put it down (except for when I had to go to work, but you know, those pesky bills must be paid, so.)

Zoromski, Brian (November 1, 2000). "William Friedkin and Tommy Lee Jones to Take on The Hunted". IGN . Retrieved August 24, 2023. There is an emotional detachment in the way the novel unfolds. As the interviews focus solely on the words spoken by the interviewer and interviewee, we can only guess what it means when someone pauses, but there's no real emotional connection with the speaker. The news reports also add to the detachment, as well as the very final piece, which is cold in its finality. I believe Myers did this on purpose, however, to show how the dissection of tragic events removes their emotional impact. They become mere facts and figures, abstract ideas rather than a real thing with real weight. The purpose is to analyze and determine why such events happen, but Myers' goal is to point out that there aren't always easy answers to those questions. Maybe there are no answers at all. Sure, Len was an outsider and he was troubled, but so were Carla and Cameron, and they had no intention of harming anyone. When Shooter took over in 1994, there were a few desultory trains out to Gerrards Cross and Banbury and a handful of commuter services for the benefit of affluent Chiltern towns such as Aylesbury, Amersham and the villages around Chalfont and Latimer station. Most industry-watchers thought that Shooter, too, had overreached himself by taking on such a moribund railway. The mountaintop confrontation was shot on the glaciers of Rainbow Mountain, near the resort town of Whistler, British Columbia. [9] Weapons and tactics [ edit ] Zengotita, Thomas de (April 9, 2007). The assassination scenes were filmed in Independence National Historical Park in front of Independence Hall in Philadelphia. The sniper location was created from using the exteriors of the church steeple at the junction of New Street and North 4th Street and combining them with an elevated view from another building to create a fictional vista of the park. The final scene was in Mammoth Lakes, California, in the lakes basin. In the sixth book, “I, Sniper” which was published in the year 2009, the FBI enlists Bob’s assistance in the investigation of a number of prominent Vietnam War protesters in the 1960s. The five are thrown together in what they believe to be a drill. Only it’s not – it’s real. There is a shooter out there in the school and one of them may have more to do with the drama than the others know… On one hand, Noah's chapters were for the most part spot on, though I'm not convinced she actually talked to any autistic people about their experiences; They show the fight-or-flight nature of meltdowns at one point and it's a good way to remind people that hey, autistic people are still people, they have thoughts -- you'd think this would be obvious but unfortunately a lot of people dont get that.I facilitated a grade 7/8 book club at my children’s school this past year and this was the novel they chose to read. It was a read-aloud book club where we met weekly to read and discuss a few chapters together. Shooter aired on Thursdays at 10:00 pm on USA Network. But then, it really becomes a race against time. Because not only is there a shoot in the school, one of those characters know him personally. And even worse, the little group discover his plan is far more sinister than shooting up random people.

Solotov's hunt has him hiding in plain sight. On the other hand, the way they discuss Noah, as well as the entire handling of Xander, makes me very uncomfortable. I can't tell how much of the ableism and misinterpreting was a conscious character-building choice and how much was the author's own opinions making themselves known.
