Western Digital partners with a wide range of NAS system vendors for extensive testing to ensure compatibility with most NAS enclosures. These are my drives of choice currently. They are purely for data as I use SSDs for the operating system. And is really worrying. SMR have such a huge drop in writing performance than they had to advertise them as "archiving" devices before. I noticed that they didn't say they would STOP using SMR drives in the line that is supposed to be for NAS (the Red line) - just that you should know & buy the Red Pro line if you are concerned about it. Sheesh.... All Red Labeled Western Digital are top products for storage/NAS/SAN purposes and this drive is no exception. Also noticed that the 6TB is a bit quieter than their 4TB predecessor. It's an amazingly good product and an extremely good value for money. Western Digital, ALWAYS!
