About this deal

Just read this book to my grandchildren 8 years and 5 years and they absolutely loved it. They did not want me to stop reading and the hardest part was saying ‘more of it tomorrow’. Story encompasses so many facets of life that the children will encounter in certain degrees and it held their attention making them excited for more.

Begins with a premise that doesn’t bear examination and goes badly off the rails toward the end: skip. The Creakers’ tells the story of Lucy Dungston – a child who wakes up to discover that all of the grown-ups in her town have disappeared. While the rest of the children in Whiffington Town are running wild, Lucy is formulating a plan to find out what has happened. But, late one night, Lucy spots four mysterious creatures creeping around her bedroom; they are The Creakers and they know exactly what is going on.I really enjoyed reading this book because it has a great overall message in the story. ‘Its okay to be different’ This really comes across in the book and I like the added touch at the end (The author, Tom Fletcher, wrote a song to go with the book called Different and there are the lyrics and a QR code to hear him sing it). Some of the illustrations show silhouettes of the Creamers. Can you draw your own silhouette pictures? If you ever doubted that dinosaurs and Christmas would work well together, read this book. It is bursting with loveable characters, fast-paced adventure and, of course, Christmas spirit. Armistice Day: A Collection of Remembrance - Spark Interest and Educate Children about Historical Moments Puffin is an imprint of Penguin Random House, the world’s number-one publisher representing a vibrant community of publishing houses marked by unparalleled success. Through our world of stories, Puffin aims to open up the world to every child. Our mission is to inspire children to feel they can be and do anything, and to create readers for life.

Lucy’s dad says that crying is when all the sad stuff inside your mind builds up so much that it starts to leak out of your eyes. Can you think of a time when you have felt like crying? Just like The Christmasaurus, this novel is a fun and entertaining children's novel that is sure to make many kids all over the world peek under their beds in search for the Creakers themselves. Lucy reminds me a lot of myself when I was that age, although I do believe she's a tad bit braver than me, and the side characters that also show up are equally entertaining. I did laugh out loud when two kids named Buzz and Buddy had taken their dad's car out for a drive (if you didn't know, Buzz and Buddy are Tom Fletcher's kids... and now you know what he suspects they would do if him and his wife ever disappeared) - and you'll also, briefly, meet the kids from The Christmasaurus, so the stories seem to be set in the same universe. Sort of.

Write a news report about the naughty things the children did while their parents were away. Chapter 9 describes lots of these. Do you ever hear strange, creaking noises at night? Ever wonder what makes those noises? Lucy Dungston always did. Woleb, or should we just call it Below, was a fun and interesting place. Sure, also disgusting as hell, but eh. :P I liked the way it worked, how it hid stuff and randomly made new place and hallways. I wasn't surprised at where the adults resided that is a pretty fitting place, plus that way they won't be able to resist much.
