About this deal

The reduced air volume produced a masking effect that obscured critical details within the source signal. A frequency absorbing resonator chamber was applied to reveal those subtle nuances once again. This collection of technologies works together in perfect harmony, establishing the IE 300 as a go-to benchmark earphone when sound quality matters. ” IE 300 บริเวณท่อเสียงจะมีตะแกรงช่องเล็ก ๆ ในการแยกย่านเสียง และตัวจุกที่ให้มาก็จะมีตะแกรงเป็นช่องแบบเดียวกันครับ The IE 300 is not your typical V-shaped IEM, even though bass and treble are emphasised in almost equal measure. I don’t hear vocals as particularly recessed, especially male vocals, though they’re definitely not elevated like they tend to be on many Eastern-tuned IEMs. As such, I’d class the IE 300’s tonal shape as more steep U than pure V, with a warm, pleasant timbre that lends itself to a fairly smooth, though still quite lively listen across most music genres.

Key to the IE 900 is that Sennheiser hasn’t changed its basic preferred configuration to make them. Where many rivals are armature designs, with multiple drivers on each side, often supported by a dynamic driver handling the bass, the IE 900 has a single dynamic driver in each enclosure. This is responsible for the entire frequency response and the IE 900 uses an all new one called the X3R. This builds on the ‘Extra Wide Bandwidth’ principles that have been seen in the IE 800 and IE 800S and begins by increasing the size of the driver from 7mm… but only to 7.7mm. Both the IE 200 and 300 are effortless when it comes to their soundstages. The IE 300 has the unfortunate place as the first to release out of the two. Since its release, the IE series has only gotten better, and I feel like the IE 200 has superior ability. Both IEMs have similar levels of depth, but the IE 200 goes just a bit wider. The IE 200 feels like it is communicating more room in between each individual performance, and they become more transparent in the mix as a result. Instruments are easy to localize with the IE 300 as well, but the positioning doesn’t feel as intricately layered as the IE 200. These are both two very accurate representations of soundstage, but the IE 200 just appears more transparent and pure, while the IE 300 is a little flatter in comparison. All weight of judgement falls on the Sennheiser IE 300’s sound. These earphones are quite exceptional in several ways, producing detail in excess of some expensive multi-driver earphones while using a single dynamic driver. How can this be? Put simply, listening to the IE 900 alongside the IE 800S, the shared design philosophy of a single, exactingly engineered driver covering the whole frequency response is what defines the performance of Sennheiser earphones more than anything else. Multi driver IEMs are often wonderful things, possessing a space and airiness that is frequently addictive. Listening to Making Water from the Martian score, compared to the Campfire Audio Andromeda, the IE 900 has to give a little ground in terms of the sheer soundstage on offer.

With the exception of the bass on “Adulthood,” all these differences were extremely minor, but the IE 300 never once gave me anything but stellar sound. Bottom line Moving on to chamber music, I listened to “Gagliarda del Principe de Venosa” by Carlo Gesualdo, one of my favorite renaissance composers, as performed by Les Récréations on the album Scarlatti Sonate a Quattro at 24/96. The ensemble includes two violins, one viola, and one cello that are joined by a lute for this selection. I could easily distinguish each instrument clearly on the IE 300, which produced a delicate, well-balanced, open sound. Dynamic range is also very decent, impressive even, with the IE 300 able to articulate subtle nuances and sudden bursts of volume in equal measure. When Hans Zimmer’s Mountains bursts into life at the 2-minute mark, the emotion communicated through the crescendo is palpable, while all the subtle details and effects in and around the main strings and piano strikes are clean and clear. Likewise, I was impressed by how the build-up to Max Richter’s Winter 1 wasn’t totally obscured, with subtle cues in the opening string instruments loud enough to enjoy, even at lower volume.Creative Aurvana Trio: the IE 200 has wider sound staging, its treble is more refined and less cooked, Aurvana’s midrange is a little more elevated, sounding a little more fuller, the bass has also more beef. Every company’s worst nightmare: a graph Welcome to the first of my Cliffnotes, a series where I push out rapid fire

This is fitting to an almost cinematic narrative level because the IE 900 was revealed at the same time as the news that the company's consumer division had been sold offbroke, as per the announced intention to do so earlier in the year. The nature of this sale is not a ‘clean break’ and Sennheiser looks like it will be involved in the development of future product but, until we know how that truly works in practice, what you see here is very likely the last of the Sennheiser home audio division products developed in the ‘old way.’ Arooj Aftab’s gorgeous rendition of Baghon Main catches almost all the subtlety of the music and pristine vocals with the XM4, but even though the IE 300 sharpens the focus somewhat, I don’t feel like I’m missing anything, and indeed the Sony is probably the smoother of the two when I change focus from the music to writing this review. With its easy transitions from bass to mids, and a slightly rolled treble, the Sony is both warmer and softer, but no less engaging and entertaining than the IE 300 with this and similar music. Instrument fundamentals in the midrange generally have a very natural, life-like timbre, as you’d expect from the tuning experts at Sennheiser. Guitar strings and piano strikes are probably more influenced by the bass lift than any residual treble peakiness, of which there is very little. Annelie’s rendition of Tomorrow, from her solo piano masterpiece Hetrz, showcases the rich, smoky overtones of the sustain pedal rather than the brighter key strikes, and while Joe ‘Satch’ Satriani’s guitar riffs in Always With Me, Always With You are clear and crunchy, they’re also nicely rounded with a slightly warmer edge.Design wise there to me are 3 highlights. First, the tiny Sennheiser logo on the outside/face plate. Second the slightly tilted nozzle, supplying a perfect fit, and lastly the grill design at the end of the nozzle which is repeated in n-both the provided silicone and foam tips. It’s all in the little details.

The company has already proved you don’t need to use multiple drivers in earphones, or planar magnetic/electrostatic ones in headphones, to create low-distortion sound. And that continues with the Sennheiser IE 300.Beyerdynamic Xelento 2: the Xelento delivers more elevated bass and better midrange presence, overall sounds warmer while the treble has less prominence compared to IE 200. The Sennheiser IE 300 offer excellent treble detail and clarity, particularly considering the sound isn’t particularly piercing or challenging on the ear. Their zest adds something to all kinds of music.
