About this deal

The Nitecore TINI2 can be recharged in approximately one hour and 45 minutes. It can work, and therefore be used, while charging or remain always on using a USB device such as a power bank. In our testing the USABLE throw (range) for Turbo is about 100ft (33m). The manual says 89m or 291ft on Turbo. We disagree with the vendor on the throw for all the modes. Our opinion is the throw numbers are about 2 to 2.5x what we felt was usable. Using the Nitecore TINI2 The display shows some useful stuff like the current level and remaining runtime at that level. It does it only after mode change, otherwise the screen is blank. But it adds that annoying logo in between. In DAILY mode, the flashlight will remain on until the user turns it off manually. The "TURBO" level is only momentary by holding down the "MODE" button. The modes are far more appropriate here than on the T4K due to the size of the light, and the Turbo being limited to 500 lumens keeps things in the realm of “warm but not burning holes in things”. The battery, while relatively small, can still give a decent amount of light out. 45 minutes on high, and 15 on Turbo, is definitely no slouch, and it holds the output pretty steadily until its time is up.

Before the TINI 2, there was the original TINI and an SS verion that uses stainless steel. The TINI 2 is an entirely new redesigned version which is much sleeker. Note: *Turbo mode is a manually operated momentary function and the run-time is tested without temperature regulation active. In addition to this it now has two emitters for a higher maximum output of 500 lumens (momentary output) from two OSRAM P8 LEDs, which is an incredible output from the compact body, an OLED screen display and utilises a USB Type-C charging port for easy and fast charging. Both the newer Nitecore TIP SE 700 lumen and newer TIP2 720 lumen are brighter. Both are EXCELLENT alternatives. Nitecore Tini2 Battery Life There’s a small loop at the bottom of the light to attach the keyring loop to, which is attached to the frame via a screw, so if the loop were to be damaged, it could be removed and replaced. Again, a great move for repairability. The TINI 2 is light weight (essential for a keyring torch), well constructed, and has a very good light spread; making it ideal for its intended use. The various modes are most useful, as is the charging method.

Image 1, from left to right: Nitecore T4K, Nitecore TUP, Rovyvon A9 Aurora, Nitecore Tube, MBI HF-R, Fenix E03R, Nitecore TINI 2, Olight i1R 2 EOS, Lumintop GLOW I. As we can see from the graph below, I did some tests on and off with the TINI2 in turbo mode for about 10 minutes. At the end of the test, the TINI2 display showed 3.76V. The keyring light has a multi-functional OLED display screen which provides real-time information on the battery, brightness, mode and runtime. When fully charged: Turbo 15min, High 45min, Mid 2hr 30min, Low 8hr, Ultralow 60hr. It was able to hold a charge for over a month with infrequent use.

This could be better

There are 2 settings (DEMO and DAILY) and 2 electronic switches on the side of the flashlight – MODE button (closer to the head) & POWER button (further from the head) to operate the light. With the torch both off and on, press and hold the MODE button to access the TURBO level; release the button to switch off or to return to the previous light level set. Today I’m taking a look at the Nitecore TINI2, one of the newest keychain lights in Nitecore’s stable. HOLD (MODE) [~1 sec] – Direct access to MOMENTARY TURBO, releasing switch will return to previous mode. The TINI2 is light ( 19 grams) and, like the TIP SE, now adopts two OSRAM P8 LEDs. It has a maximum light output of 500 lumens and an IP54 certified water resistance (protected from dust and splashes of water).
