About this deal

I looked down, seeing the pointed tips of my breasts harden through the thin fabric, and I shook with silent, bitter laughter, reveling in my degradation. Overall, Corrupt is an engaging and captivating read that will leave the reader wanting more. Myriad of readers have found the story to be an inspiring and uplifting experience. One of the most compelling aspects of Penelope Douglass Corrupt Book is its exploration of the history of corruption in government. Through the novel, readers are provided an objective look at how government officials have used their power to their own benefit and the impact that this has had on society. Overall, Bully is a touching and a compelling novel, and the author accurately showcases a theme that has affects almost everyone especially during teenage. There are so many lessons to be learned, like bullying, forgiving those who hurt most and learning how to overcome some of the life’s most tormenting moments.

Rival is the second novel in Fall Away series by Penelope Douglas. Even though a second installment, the story can be read as a standalone, the only challenge is that the characters from the previous (first book in the series) play a vital in this book. The story introduces two star-crossed lovers, Madoc and Fallon fighting against the secrets and the pains of the past. Their connection to each other is strong, and their obsession with each other does not end but instead gets stronger each day. They both need each other but will the hate, games, dark pasts, and family connection stop a love that was destined to flourish or will they have to fight for their love beyond themselves? Standing up straight, I squared my shoulders and let the fear sit. I didn’t push it away or try to bury it. Riiiiiikaaaaa,” Will sang, toying with me from an intercom in the house out to the garden shed. “I know where you are, Little Monster.” Damon’s voice came over the intercom again. “I will take it out of your ass before we leave that shed, Rika,” he threatened. “Don’t run.” Abbey reclaims her power and her voice, which leads to the liberation of others. Justice is achievable through solidarity and collective action, and each individual has the potential to make a change if they are willing to take a stand. The novel ends with Rika and Michael deciding to leave Thunder Bay together. They plan to start a new life where they can face their future without the shadows of their pasts. Despite the darkness that has engulfed their lives, Rika and Michael find a sense of hope and the possibility of a better future. Corrupt” by Penelope Douglas is a dark romance novel that tells the story of Erika “Rika” Fane, a young woman who gets entangled with a group of dangerous boys known as the Horsemen. The novel is known for its dark, gritty atmosphere and intense, suspenseful plot. Fire is a warning of the consequences of taking the wrong path. Dreams and religion are symbols of hope and faith. Corrupt can be compared to other works of Penelope Douglas. Her other books, such as Dare You To and Until You, also explore themes of loyalty, trust, and morality. However, Corrupt stands out because of its thrilling and suspenseful plot. To protect themselves, the Horsemen pin the blame on Michael’s younger brother, Trevor. Trevor takes the fall for the crime, and his life is ruined in the process. Believing that Rika is responsible for Trevor’s demise, the Horsemen secretly vow to seek revenge on her.

SUMMARY: Erika Fane is in love with Michael Crist, her ex-boyfriend Trevor’s older brother. Michael was a big deal when he was at school, and now he’s a professional basketball player. Erika is about to go off to her second year of college in another city and she can’t wait to get away from her mother, who has been in a drug-induced lethargy since Erika’s father died, and Trevor, who irritates her. Trevor and Michael’s family are loaded. So is Erika’s family. Michael is HOTHOTHOT. So is Erika – who for some reason that makes no sense, is called Rika. So, how old are these people? Erika is 19 and Michael is 23 or 24…making Corrupt New Adult. Anyway, Erika has always believed that Michael hates her, especially after what happened when she was sixteen and she ended up hanging out with Michael and his three besties Kai, Will and Damon, collectively known as The Four Horseman. Their Devil’s Night pranks landed Kai, Damon and Will in jail for three years, but now they’re out and they’re looking for revenge. That’s where Michael comes in: he’s going to help them because, after all, he hates Rika, too. Only not so much. Metaphors are used to compare two very different concepts, while similes are used to provide insight into relationships between characters. Foreshadowing hints at upcoming events in the novel, while irony creates suspense and explores themes. Allusions to historical figures, places, and events provide context and depth to the story, while imagery creates vivid and detailed descriptions. Bully is an excellent start to an exciting series. Tate is a strong woman, such that she can put up with Jared and his bullying even though she has no idea of why her once best friend chooses to be so bad for her. Her relief comes when she gets to spend a year in France, away from Jarred and his taunting. However, it reaches a point when she has to stand her ground, which forces Jared to up his game. Throughout the story, Tate not only matures as a character but also as a woman from being the defenseless naïve girl to being a woman who can stand for herself, and her ground. Jared bullying leaves Tate with very few friends, and this causes her at times to be socially inept. However upon realizing herself, Tate blossoms and manages to stand for herself. Douglas is a fan of repeating herself. One of the irritating ways she does this is by telling us what song is on the car radio, the CD player, the wherever music comes from

Mrs. Douglas is Penelope’s mother, strong and ambitious, determined to give her daughter the best life possible. Yet despite all my objections and the things that still have me scratching my head, I enjoyed Corrupt. Whether you love the characters or hate them—and there are quite a few that fall heavily on the “dislike” side—all the players are fascinating. Penelope Douglas knows how to weave a spellbinding mystery, and this one is particularly addictive. Say what you will, Corrupt is a gripping, erotic, disturbing, all-consuming thrill ride. In the climax of the story, Rika confronts Michael and the other Horsemen. She reveals the truth about the night of the prank and forcing them to face the consequences of their actions. Michael and Rika finally admit their feelings for each other, but they must overcome their dark pasts and confront their demons to find redemption.

I let my head fall as I tried to take in air, but I couldn’t stop my chest from damn near convulsing. All I could get were short breaths. When It Falls Apart by Catherine Bybee: Review, excerpt, interview with the author, and a giveaway! Any issues with the book list you are seeing? Or is there an author or series we don’t have? Let me know! The characters in the novel are complex and layered, their struggles and triumphs inspiring and uplifting. Corrupt is an engaging and thought-provoking novel that not only explores the power of friendship, but also encourages readers to think critically about their decisions and to take a stance. Abbey’s journey illuminates the fact that, even when we feel powerless, we all have the power to create positive change. The guys were in the house—Michael, Mr. and Mrs. Crist’s eldest son, and his three friends—Kai Mori, Will Grayson, and Damon Torrance. The two characters are fantastic. For instance, there is Fallon, a loner seeking retribution for all the wrong things that were committed against her. She is tough and a tender-hearted young woman who gave her love as well as body to a man who has managed to remain deeply ingrained in both her heart and soul. Imagine how heartbreaking it could be finding out that the person whom you cared and loved the most could deceive and break your heart into a million pieces? This is what Fallon feels and the main reason why she seeks revenge. However, the question is, was all that she was meant to believing true or just mere fabrications? For years, Erika bit her nails, unable to look away. Now, she’s in college, but she hasn’t stopped watching him. He’s bad and the things she’s seen aren’t content to stay in her head anymore. I saw him. I heard him. The things that he did, and the deeds that he hid... For years, I bit my nails, unable to look away.
