About this deal

People with oily-prone skin, meet Cosrx's Vitamin E Vitalizing Sunscreen SPF 50+, which is formulated with silica and cotton extract to keep excess sebum under control, so you don't end up with a greasy T-zone by lunch. For a dose of moisture (because, yes, oily skin needs it), you can count on antioxidant vitamin E and cocoa extract to keep skin feeling soft and nourished. You'll see some familiar, editor-beloved ingredients in Thank You Farmer's Sun Project Water Sun Cream, including soothing aloe leaf and hydrating sunflower seed extracts. But this hybrid SPF, which means it contains both mineral and chemical filters (homosalate, octorylene, and titanium dioxide, to be exact), is also derm-approved as well. " Centella asiatica extract and bamboo water are two key ingredients that soothe and hydrate the skin," Eunice Park, MD, a dual board-certified facial plastic surgeon based in Long Island, NY, and founder of AIREM says, noting that this moisturizing sunscreen is ideal for normal to dry skin types. Exactly what it sounds: nice smelling stuff put into cosmetic products so that the end product also smells nice. Fragrance in the US and parfum in the EU is a generic term on the ingredient list that is made up of 30 to 50 chemicals on average (but it can have as much as 200 components!).

This product is not tested on animals and is free of artificial colors, animal products, parabens and mineral oil. Purslane Extract - a traditional Korean medicinal plant with skin-soothing, antioxidant and wound healing abilities. To take this measurement system one step further, Dr. Ko Lamm points out that Western sunscreens are formulated as a necessity by focusing on the immediate effects of the sun. Korean sunscreens, on the other hand, are part of a lifestyle. They defend your skin from the long-term effects of the sun. Watery and lightweight sunscreen offers SPF 50+ PA+++ protection along with Phyto-Oligo, walnut oil, Centella asiatica extracts and sodium hyaluronate to keep skin moisturized and refreshed. Phthalate-free formulation. A clear, oil-soluble, "cosmetically-elegant" liquid that is the most commonly used chemical sunscreen. It absorbs UVB radiation (at wavelengths: 280-320 nm) with a peak protection at 310nm.

Regarding safety, there are also someconcerns around Octinoxate. In vitro (made in the lab not on real people) and animal studies have shown that it may produce hormonal (estrogen-like) effects. Do not panic , the studies were not conducted under real life conditions on real human people, so it is probably over-cautious to avoidOctinoxate altogether. However, if you are pregnant or a small child(under 2 yrs. old), choose a physical ( zinc oxide/ titanium dioxide) or new-generation Tinosorb based sunscreen, just to be on the super-safe side. :) For the record, my skin type is dry dehydrated. So I expect all my sunscreens to leave my skin moisturized with a dewy finish. Bonus points if there is no white cast. With that being said, I’m gonna be judging this sunscreen based on how well it worked for my skin type. Pros Asides from Centella Asiatica and Sodium Hyaluronate, this sun cream doesn’t have the typical ingredients I usually see in Korean sunscreens. It is formulated with a bunch of plant extracts, including fragrance. They include:It can boost the effectiveness of phenoxyethanol (and other preservatives) and as an added bonus it feels nice on the skin too. Regarding Homosalate's safety profile, we do not have the best news. In-vitro (made in the labs) studies have shown that it might have some estrogenic activity. Do not panic, these studies were not conducted on real humans under real world conditions. Still, if you are a 'better safe than sorry' type, be careful when using Homosalate containing sunscreens long-term and full-body. These are all old style UVB filters, which should together give the product an SPF 50 and I don’t doubt from a UVB perspective this is a SPF 50 product.
