All modes are designed to be used for 2 minutes. The only exception is tongue clean which is set for 30 seconds. The biggest benefit is that it makes it much easier to switch between the brushing modes or see which one you have selected.

These are the key features that dentists recommend. It certainly makes the iO7 stand out from the crowd, but in all reality what you can do on the screen is really quite limited. After you go through the modes, you come to a “Settings” option. You select the option by pushing the power button. Here you can enable or disable Bluetooth, change the color of the LED light ring, change the language (with 12 available languages!), or perform a Factory Reset.If your battery is swollen, take appropriate precautions. For your safety, discharge your battery below 25% before disassembling your toothbrush. This reduces the risk of a dangerous thermal event if the battery is accidentally damaged during the repair. The iO 7 comes with 5 available brushing modes. As we have said before, we aren’t a big fan of modes. We have found that the daily clean mode is pretty much all you need. If this brush causes some discomfort, we can see some value in having a sensitive mode, but remember that using this mode will also reduce the cleaning power. Oral-B have some of the more cost effective brush heads, compared to the likes of Sonicare for example.
One complaint that we had about the other Oral-B brushes that we tested is that they all looked and felt dated compared to the sleeker models in our tests. Oral-B clearly took note of this when they decided to create the iO series. This brush is very sleek in all white with no visible seams or distractions for the eye. The Series 7 comes with a magnetic charger that recharges the battery in 3 hours, compared to the standard Oral-B charger supplied with the Series 6 which takes up to 12 hours. So, if you are travelling to Europe, Asia etc, the Series 6 cannot be recharged without a step down voltage converter. The Series 3 has 3 cleaning modes (daily clean, sensitive & whitening) compared to the 4 of the Series 4 (daily clean, sensitive, super sensitive & whitening). The extra mode the iO4 has is super sensitive. The iO6-10 does allow the color to be changed via the in-handle display. But, you have fewer color choices than if you navigate to the app. There is some variance in the colors available The iO6 is the best value option. It strikes the balance between additional features and price. It has some smart features, but not the full suite.The iO10’s pacer is often set to 20 second (sextant) intervals compared to the 30 second (quadrant) intervals of the iO9. Of all the incredible features the iO7 has built in, there are only a few our dental professionals feel are essential. They are a timer, a pacer and a pressure sensor. Brush your teeth evenly and for longer For most, this is not an issue. But, if you have a small mouth or crowded teeth maneuvering the iO head around will feel a bit different and in a few instances pose more of a challenge. There is no unsightly protuberance on this stand, just a slight convex zone in the center that aligns with the concave base of the iO7’s handle.
