Caleb asks if everything is okay, and standing up, Hanna tells him it is, she’s just drunk and tired and she wants to sleep.

Spencer says there’s also no sign of the blonde or Holbrook, before saying that they need to figure out a way to tie Holbrook into the storage space without being tied up into it themselves. Caleb suggests that they could always call Toby, “tip him off. Let the cops find out what was in that barrel”, but Spencer says opening that barrel would have been playing into Holbrook’s hands, and she really doesn’t want to risk Toby’s job. Caleb comments that Hanna’s friends will understand, to which Hanna says that if they don’t, she’ll be screwing them just like Alison’s screwed her. Commenting that the cops are probably already on their way here, Caleb tells Hanna that he understands that doing this will change everything “for you, for us, for everybody”, but he doesn’t see what choice Hanna has. Caleb and Hanna go to a coffee shop to talk about Lucas. Hanna says that Lucas used to be so sweet and Caleb jokes by saying no guy ever wants to be called sweet by a girl. Hanna wants Caleb to talk to Lucas but Caleb doesn't know because he hasn't really talked to him since he moved out but Caleb agrees to do it. Caleb goes and tries to talk to Lucas in the chem lab. Lucas asks what he wants and Caleb says that he tried to set fire to his girlfriend. Lucas tells him to mind his own business. Caleb says he would and is pretty good about doing that, but there are other people involved and tells him that he knows all about Mona being A. At Radley, Caleb is mad that she lied to him because she said that she would stop seeing Mona. Hanna tells the girls that her mom always said that Christmas was wherever they were, as long as they were together. Suddenly Caleb’s voice tells the girls that “we are… together”, and looking up, the girls find Caleb, Toby, Ezra and Paige on the Hastings’ staircase wearing Santa boxers, “Merry Christmas”. Caleb and Hanna joke around with some Christmas decorations, as everyone else huddles around the island bench in the Hastings’ kitchen. As Caleb sits down next to Hanna by the roaring fire, Hanna tells him that Mona should be with them tonight, and that the only reason they’re celebrating is because of her, before Caleb pulls her into a hug.

As a language professional, I especially enjoyed reading the vernacular used in the poems and this, alongside playing with different formats, speaks to Caleb Femi's particular talent. ⁠ I was a little sad to see it drop a lot of it's horror feel but it made up for it in the way Caleb reacts to things, and just his general appearance. I liked that even though he's highly skilled, he still can take a beating. I also enjoyed the interaction with most characters, especially Mia. Give me more Mia. Caleb surprises Hanna at the masquerade party when he was supposed to be spending time with his mother in California. He is the complimentary Romeo to her Juliet costume. They kiss and dance.At the time of writing this review I am in the 1% of GoodReads readers who have given this less than a 3* rating. So as a preface for this review it's worth keeping in mind my views are probably not reflective of the typical readership. However, in my defense, I do really enjoy reading poetry and lived in London for a few years, so I really did come to this thinking I'd enjoy it.

I don't have the skill with words to do it justice. Superbly read by the author, this poetry is alive. It breathes and lives truth.Later the day Caleb is waiting for Hanna in the Marin kitchen. Hanna is annoyed by his need to protect her. She explains that even though she understands what he must feel like after she was kidnapped, but his way of treating her makes her feel like she is still trapped. Hanna asks for a little space and he leaves without saying anything. Caleb doesn't like to let too many people get too close to him, except for Hanna, and Lucas when he still lived with him and was developing a close friendship despite the two boys being so different. After Caleb works on A's cellphone, he becomes close with Spencer, Emily, and Aria. He also becomes friends with Paige while working with her to bring down A. Later on, he becomes friends with Ezra and Toby to help find out who A is and to help get Spencer, Emily, Aria, and Hanna out of the dollhouse. When Tris surrenders herself to the Erudite for testing to protect the Dauntless, it is revealed that he has been working for Erudite all along and has leaked information to Jeanine about Tris's aptitude test results. In the episode Crash and Burn, Girl! Caleb teamed up with Toby to find out who A is and then tried and stop A.
