About this deal

Good evening, I said in a very serious tone that surprised me. Why was I starting like a newsreader? I am Raquel from across the road. Duncan, Robert E., widow Duncan, Mary E.; Corpl. D 14 NJ Inf.; 1879 Nov. 24, Invalid Appl. #331883, Cert. #253471; 1904 Sept. 26, Widow Appl. #814125, Cert. #587878, NJ. (MAD: 1860-1900 Monmouth Co. NJ) The arrival of new neighbours at number 23 thrusts the word “neighbourly” into an entirely new dimension, forever altering Raquel and her family’s lives. In an uncharted territory, Raquel finds herself grappling to maintain her family’s safety. No good deed goes unpunished, eh?

Another kiss was heading my way, this time it landed awkwardly on my forehead because I looked at the floor at the wrong time, a cheap floor that was masquerading as real wood. Matt had, at this point, stopped laughing at my expense and was shirtless whilst lighting a faux flame glass-fronted fire below the massive telly. I imagined his chest hair catching alight. My shoulders would have been shaking then, oh yes they would. He turned around, having sparked up The Ambience 1200. My sister is successful, she is a lawyer, a saver and has brains. They live in a very palatial town house in the centre of Dublin, they have a housekeeper called Nancy and they travel in style – from the outside looking in, it was perfect. So Suzy wanting to go and take up in one of their large spare rooms with an en suite and a view of the river was not hugely surprising.Cataloged under Civil War, 1861-1865, pensions, indexes; does not say if Confederate or Federal, but probably Federal. Negative film, some cards much too faint or dark to read, some cards blurred or faded, particularly the service unit and the dates of application. Most of the very faint or dark cards were in a slightly different format, with space for years enlisted and discharged which were sometimes filled in. Many of these were for service in later years, although one or two were for service ca 1866. Let's just say that from there, the whole situation snowballed out of control, and you just can't stop yourself from reading until the end.

Pg.450-451: PAUL BUCHANAN, born in the town of Lachute, in the province of Quebec, county of Argentile, in Canada East, January 24, 1825, son of Thomas and Florinda (Hutchins) Buchanan. (MAD: more on Buchanan family) .... in 1850 he came to Newark, where he found employment ... has been twice married. His present wife was formerly Miss Jessie Duncan, and their marriage was solemnized May 14, 1889. She is a daughter of Alexander and Janet (McGahie) Duncan, both of whom were natives of Scotland. Coming to America they [MAD: Duncans] settled in Canada, where the father served in the Ninety-third Regiment of Highlanders during the rebellion in that country. Mr. and Mrs. Buchanan have one child, Jessie, born April 17, 1891. ...So, I figured if it could happen to kind-hearted, selfless Denise, if she could blow up her life with one misdemeanour, then it could happen to anyone. And it did; it happened to me. THE UNDERHILL MANUFACTURING COMPANY'S WORKS are situated on Third River, and were built in 1840, and known for many years as the Harrison Mills. They were originally built and operated by Sebastian, William and John Duncan. The old buildings were burned down, and rebuilt in 1878 by Mr. Charles F. Underhill, who is now the manager of the concern. The goods produced here are chiefly articles of gentlemen's underwear of cotton and wool. Vol.3 pg.168: LEONARD A. DUNCAN: Leonard A. Duncan, actively engaged in the practice of law at Newark, was born in Illinois (MAD: no date), son of Andrew and Elizabeth (Anderson) Duncan. Leonard A. Duncan attended the New York University Law School, graduating with the degree of Bachelor of Laws in 1908. He was admitted as an attorney at the New Jersey bar in November, 1908, having served his clerkship in the office of Munn & Church, of Newark. (MAD: Newark, Essex Co. NJ; b.1884 IL per 1910 census index) chronicles a summer of self-destruction, proving that even for those over forty, hormonal, and slightly bored, life can take unexpected and often hilarious turns. Her friendly gesture towards the new neighbours across the road is where it all begins. Little does she know that this seemingly innocent act of neighbourliness could unravel her world.
