About this deal

The first time I tested the hot sauce, it was 3 days ago on a roast beef sandwich I made myself for lunch. Being the hot sauce freak that I am, and a daring one at that, I put a healthy splash on, about a tablespoons worth. Holding the sandwich inches away from my face, I gave up all doubt and dove in, taking a crunchy bite. The sauce tasted smoky at first, then disappointing as it turned out to have the same bitter carrot flavour as other spicier hot sauces. It’s tough to gauge usability with extreme hot sauces like this. They’re by nature disadvantaged due to the mega-spiciness. It’s also important to distinguish between capsaicin extract and hot sauce. Extracts involve extracting a part of a plant, in this case, capsaicin, using alcohol. Hot sauce, on the other hand, is usually made spicy by chili peppers. Still, in some cases of extremely spicy hot sauces, they may use capsaicin extract to make them spicier than possible with chili peppers along.

It should go without saying that if you’re not into extreme hot sauces, then Elijah’s Xtreme Regret is likely not very usable for you. Sure, you can enjoy a few drops here or there, but you’re likely better off with a hot sauce more inline with your heat balance. On the sodium: There’s 100 mg per teaspoon serving, or 4% of your daily value. Granted, sauces this hot, how likely is it you’re using so much of this to worry too much on the overall salt. For most, a few drops is plenty. Heat Balance

Simply put, when a chilli pepper is so hot that it begins to damage and impair your bodily functions, your system will literally begin rejecting and fighting it. We’ll get into the heat below. Just know for now that this is a hot sauce that reaches an extreme level of spiciness. Leading off with Trinidad Moruga Scorpion and Carolina Reaper is about as bold as you get. am. I awaken. The house is dead quiet. My sisters sleep, the dog slumbers. Even the familiar mechanical hum of the house seems to have been hushed for this moment. I really have to shit. Johnson admits that even he is intimidated by the extracts. And yet YouTube is filled with videos by amateurs and experienced chilli eaters all willing to feed an audience’s sado-masochistic taste for pain. It’s important to take note of these peppers, as certain flavours work better in different cuisines.Business owner Paul Robinson told Teesside Live said the scoville rating of the sauce is the equivalent to US grade pepper spray and is not for the faint-hearted. You may see some hot ‘sauces’ marketed as even hotter than this, but anything approaching 1,000,000 units or over is usually so powerful that it’s actually less of a condiment and more of a seasoning/additive only. I could feel the heat traveling through my digestive tract, but it didn’t get too far. Like severe menstrual cramps, waves of nausea sent me to lay on the bathroom floor. I’m a better version of me today. You guys don’t know how my life has changed for the better in the last year,” he says, explaining that his family life has improved, he’s fallen in love and has a thriving YouTube channel. Well, it’s quite simple really, as surviving a seriously hot sauce and living to tell the tale takes courage, daring and a massive set of cojones, something the male species has always prided itself on having since the days of the caveman.

A Middlesbrough pizzeria is offering customers the chance to sample one of the hottest sauces on the planet with their food - but you'll have to sign a disclaimer first.

When you see a chilli you don’t recognise, research it’s uses and try and get an idea of which recipes or food it will work well with to make sure you’re buying a hot sauce which will fit your favourite flavour profiles. This is a good starting point for working out your required heat level, as if a raw jalapeno is far too hot for you, you’ll want to look for sauces under 5,000 SHU. While hot sauce challenges and series like Hot Ones make testing your body’s spice limits seem fun and a bit of a laugh, it’s still important to remember that seriously hot sauces can have seriously horrible effects if you don’t respect them. That they do with the inclusion of two of the hottest chilies in the world: Carolina Reaper (1.4 million to 2.2 million Scoville heat units) and Trinidad Moruga Scorpion (1.2 million to 2 million SHU.)
