About this deal

The only Oximiser that Oxford list that is suitable for lithium LifePO4 batteries is the 3X, and so we would not recommend using the Oximiser900.

The Oximiser 3X is Oxford's most versatile, most powerful, multi-purpose maintenance product. It offers not one, but THREE automated charging programs for differing battery sizes - perfect for bikes, cars and even leisure batteries! So, if you have multiple toys in your garage, it's the only battery optimiser you are ever likely to need. The OXIMISER 601 is a modern charger designed to charge, optimise and prolong the life of a 12V ... I bought this item and connected it up. It charges on bulk charge 0.87 amps then drops to maintain at 0.25 amps. I left it on for two days, the battery shows 12.8 volts plus, but it won't turn the engine over enough to start. If I use my old style car charger it will charge up ok but doesn't hold the charge for more than a few days even with the oximiser attached. Anyadvice? November 6, 2017 Bin the Oximiser and buy a Ctek. Then you know you have definitely eliminated a potential problem. Cheap battery conditioners are a false economy. Oxford products are built down to a price and only exist to provide dealers with a profit margin. Tested by Richard Newland for five months across six vehicles. Quality 5/5, Value 3/5. Dead batteries are like flat tyres – utterly infuriating and one of the least glamourous replacement parts in biking. But critical to your riding pleasure. While you can't prevent punctures, you can prevent dead cells with a motorcycle battery charger and conditioner.

About

Tested by Richard Newland for 4 months. Quality 5/5, Value 3/5. Bike batteries are getting smaller and lighter – but the stress our bikes put on them with ever-more powerful electronics systems and auxiliary add-ons is getting greater than ever. It doesn't take much to find you're out of juice when you hit the magic starter button. But if you don't have bike storage with mains electricity, what do you do? You get one of these. Answer Yes, the V8 switch will replace all your old wiring, you need to remove all the old loom and just leave the grips in place. The V8 will plug straight into the grips and wire direct to the battery.

Oximiser 900 can be left permanently connected to provide guaranteed long term battery care. Suitable for all 12V ... I tried what you suggested Matt, didn't seem to make any difference. Doesn't deliver any current to the discharged battery at all. The charger works fine on the other battery though, but the resting voltage of mine is about 10.1v, surely that's chargeable? Tempted to jump out to tesco and grab a cheapo charger and see if it works. I can't even use the other battery from the ZX7R in the 10R as its far too big. Can this oximiser be used with VRLA (valve regulated lead acid) battery, manythanks. December 6, 2017 If the battery is damaged, the Oximiser won’t attempt to recover it. If the battery is below 8V it will display as ‘weak’ and won’t attempt to recover it. If the battery is holding more than 8V the Oximiser will go into ‘recover’ mode, giving the battery a soft start charge at very low current. If the initial voltage is 12.5V or more, it goes straight into ‘charge’ mode. From the instruction manual: Use this charger for charging a LEAD-ACID battery type only (VRLA, GEL, AGM, MF). It is suitable for charging batteries

The Oximiser is designed to be plugged in and left on to maintain a battery, and so should really have been plugged in before leaving the bike for two weeks. The charger will go through cycles(recover, bulk charge and maintain) and two hours would not be long enough to give the battery a full charge. If this had been left on over night you should find that the battery would be fullycharged. Knowing what the Oximiser 3X is doing in each cycle allows me to now use it properly and leave it connected for long enough to go through the full cycles; I find it simple to understand what’s going on and what state my batteries are in. It’s much easier to understand than my old Optimate III because the display tells you the voltage, charge rate and whether the battery is strong or weak.

Contact

If the battery is deeply discharged to approximately 4.1 Volts, the Oximiser 900 will charge at up to 900mA/hr until it reaches 11.8 Volts and the bulk charge mode (The Oximiser 900 will otherwise apply a gentle charge up-to 200mA/h to ensure the battery is brought up to a fullcharge). Is this charge suitable for Lithium Batteries. I have read some manufacturer statements saying as long as they are not left on for long periods and the chargers don't charge at 15+ volts they should befine? January 29, 2018 A USB port on a bike will be for charging items such as mobile phones, and will be for output only. The Oximiser will come with a battery connectionlead. So, I need a charger that I can swap between bikes to leave running for 48 hours to charge ’em up and then swap to another of the five bikes in our shed. Oh, and because we both work mostly from home now, I also need something that can top-up the car battery too, because that sits mostly outside in all weathers.
