About this deal

Need to decide which Nespresso machine to buy first? See Best Nespresso machines for advice on choosing one to suit your needs – and your budget – perfectly. Best Nespresso pods Tip: note how many pods your case holds and make a judgement based on that, for example, you may have to run through it twice before cleaning. The red and green light mean it’s time to descale the Nespresso machine. Plan to descale every three months or 300 capsules for the best results. Clean your Nespresso® coffee machine the NU way by simply inserting the Cleaning Capsule just like a coffee capsule. At the press of a button, the capsule releases a unique foaming action into the brewing chamber that gets rid of all residue build-up in just 2 minutes. The ingredient inside the cleaning capsule is made from biodegradable and organic materials, making your Nespresso® coffee machine as good as NU and your coffee taste fresher than ever. Whether you prefer a flat white or a straight-up espresso, we’ve uncovered pods that will get your taste buds tingling. And if you want to switch to a cheaper or compostable pod, we've uncovered the best of those too.

Don’t leave the used capsule in the holder; open and close the lid to drop the used capsule into the container for trash. If you leave the old capsule in the machine head, you’ll get more coffee residue in your cup (I learned this the hard way). The idea to make a perfect cup of coffee from a small capsule comes from Nestlé, which is behind the brand Nespresso®. Nestlé is one of the world's largest and oldest food producers. When you want to clean your Nespresso machine, think of caring for each part individually. Here’s how to clean each of the main parts: Mike Nunn – head of training at Monmouth Coffee Co, which has been roasting and selling coffee since 1978Avoid letting water sit in the tank too long– I find it tastes worse (maybe the minerality changes over time). Signs that your machine needs to be descaled may be the lengthening of brewing time, reduction of pressure in the machine or dripping at the machine’s outlet. In the beginning it was only possible to make coffee with the original Nespresso® pods in the Nespresso® machine. Today there are plenty of cheaper alternatives - compatible pods. See how the different coffee pod brands compare on recycling, price and range of coffees in our guide to Reusable, recyclable and compostable coffee pods. With this cleaning kit from Caffenu, we've made sure you can easily and effectively take the best care of your machine. The kit contains one dose of descaling agent and 4 cleaning pods to ensure your Nespresso® machine performs like new.

Get started by removing the water tank and emptying its contents. Submerge the water tank in warm soapy water and give it a good clean using a cloth. Rinse it with clean water and put it to one side. Move onto the cup holder and remove it so that you can wash it in soapy water. Next, remove all other washable parts such as the capsule holder and the drip tray before rinsing them, drying with a cloth, and returning them to the machine. In addition to regular descaling, emptying the water tank when the machine is not in use is also recommended. The water tank must also be cleaned regularly to ensure only fresh water is used to make coffee.

The world´s first capsule that cleans your Nespresso® coffee machine. Combines the power of cleaning with the convenience of a capsule! The best way to descale your Nespresso® machine is by using a descaling tablet (either an original from Nespresso® or a cheaper alternative). Dissolve the tablet in fresh water in the filled water tank, insert the water tank in the machine and start the descaling program. Descaling a Nespresso machine is a deep cleaning of the inside of the machine. Water has minerals that pass through your coffee machine, which build up over time. If you let the limescale build up over a long time period, it can prevent the machine from reaching the optimal temperature, and your device can stop working altogether. Moreover, you can have stale or sour coffee.
