About this deal

Your boarding skills and style: your experience with board sports (surfing, snowboarding, longboarding etc) can influence your choice of Carver skateboard. A shortboard surfer may choose a shorter and surfier Carver, a longboard surfer a more flowy setup, a longboard skater may opt for a more stable Carver setup. Since I’m not a surfer, I’m obviously not qualified to recommend which are best for surf training. However, I can describe the measurable properties of each to help you make a more informed decision. Once you have your stance width measurement (in inches), then add an inch below and an inch above your stance width to get your wheelbase range. So in my case, at an 18″ stance width, my wheelbase range is 17-19″. So in my case, my wheelbase range is 17″ to 19″. So the Carver skateboards models that will work for me will have a listed wheelbase of between 17″ and 19″.. Everything about Triton is pure surf, from the classic Fish and Thruster shapes to the full white-dipped tops. The transparent color overlay graphics continue our tradition of using surfboard glassing styles adapted to print, incorporating a sophisticated palette that elevates their elegant simplicity.

While you can ride models that are wider than your stance width range, the wider you get, the more of a specialty ride it becomes (e.g. the Carver Tyler 777), versus a more versatile surfskate. When you pump, they create more lateral side-to-side motion, versus generating forward momentum. So they’re easier to pump, but they don’t pull you forward as much when you pump. The Signal is a very versatile size and shape, Signal is a fast pumping classic surfskate ideal for everything from maneuverable driveway surfing to stable pushing through town. So once you have your stance width and wheelbase range, then only consider Carver skateboards models that have a listed wheelbase within that range. To know the Carver Skateboards history you must transport yourself to Venice Beach, California. Carvers creators Greg Falk and Neil Carver designed the first carver skate in 1995. Fans of traditional skateboarding, they were looking to create a skateboard capable of simulating the sensations one has over a surfboard. After lots of trials, tests, prototypes and a lot of dedication they were able to create the first surfskate with the C1 axis.

What is a Surfskate?

Create more lateral side-to-side motion with pumping, as opposed to forward momentum. While they are easier to pump, they don’t pull you forward as much when you pump.

Carver Roundhouse wheels were designed specifically for surfskating. The dimensions are optimal for surfskating. They also have a centerset core, which means they are ultra-grippy (as opposed to offset, which is a little less grippy, and sideset, which is the least grippy). Rest of world charges may apply to destinations like Madagascar, Japan, USA, Falkland Islands, etc… For example, if your stance width is 16″, then your wheelbase range on Carver models is between 15″ and 17″. Obviously, no one can definitely answer this question because there is so much personal preference involved. Carver Roundhouse wheels come in standard shapes in two sizes, 70mm and 68mm. They also come in a 69mm concave version, which I’ll discuss below. After riding all these surfskate systems, I’ve come to look at them on a scale ranging from pure surf trainers to pure street cruisers. In this Carver surfskates buyer’s guide, I’ll save you some time, money, and hassle by helping you hone in on the right Carver surfskates for you.

Wheelbase: this is a crucial factor when choosing your Carver board. A longer wheelbase means more stability but slower turns.Carver skateboards makes all their parts of the Skates in the Carver workshop in USA. 100% made in the USA something which guarantees quality in their components. Ideal for all levels, regardless of having ever tried a surfskate or if you come from the skateboard world, there is a model for you. Imporve your surf, warm up before getting into the water, correct bad habits while you have fun. Expand your quiver with a Carver surfskate. The surfboard for the asphalt for day with no waves. The Prismal features a longer wheelbase for faster pumping and a wider stance, and has a bit more length and stability for more drawn out carves Shape: the aspect ratio and shape design of your Carver board is important not just for aesthetics, it impacts how the board leans, carves, and pumps. Concave is also important for technical riding. However, you might appreciate the looser, smoother feel; deeper rail-to-rail lean, and more upper body responsiveness that the C7 offers.
