About this deal

I've only just got my 1st bike with a Presta valve so up until now have just used the the compressor with the standard Schrader fitting for all the bikes and cars in the family but the new bike will be the one that probably wants doing on it's own most regularly and the compressor can be a bit of a faff just to do one bike. You can trust Cycling Weekly. Our team of experts put in hard miles testing cycling tech and will always share honest, unbiased advice to help you choose. Find out more about how we test.

The total volume of liquid or shape of the hole have no influence on hydrostatic pressure, but the height of the liquid column (depth) must be measured in the same direction as the force due to gravity, that is, true vertical. This consideration is important in highly deviated and horizontal wellbores. The hydrostatic pressure (P) at any depth in a wellbore is calculated as follows:At 17cm long, it's shorter than others, such as the LifeLine Performance Road mini pump, but on test we found that it took 200 strokes to go from flat to 100psi, which is far better than most of a similar size.

The key to finding the best bike floor pump for you is listing your non-negotiables, then nice to haves - this will help you work out your priorities. The other lateral thinking is take a drill and file to it and get a couple of new inner tubes and then everything's the same If you use a bike stand, a long hose helps access the valve while the bike is lifted off the ground, without having to fiddle around with the valve’s position. The third most common type is a Dunlop valve, which looks like a combination of both, but is not often seen on bikes in the US or UK.

If I wanted to go from 25psi in my 29er tyres to 50psi I'd probably need about 25 pumps or more. Maybe 60 pumps from flat. I'm not sure but it is very easy. Also any recommendations for the cheapest that would be considered decent, worth having and reliable.

Tipping the scales at just 25g, it really will be hard to beat the barely-there mini bike pump on weight. Even the best CO2 inflators will struggle to beat this flyweight, and of course, it's arguably more environmentally friendly in that it's reusable. Brucey wrote:re converting all your bikes to Schrader; you can do this provided you are not going to use skinny rims ever. Skinny rims need presta valves in them. So bearing that in mind, if you ever think you might have a road bike, best to learn how to live with presta.

This does feel a little like a Topeak buyer's guide, but it does show how much we rate the brand's bike pumps, as arguably what Garmin GPSs are to the best cycling computers. Example: Assume a leak-off test conducted in a 10,000-ft wellbore containing 11.5-ppg mud with a leak-off pressure of 1040 psi. The formation fracture pressure is estimated as Drillwell Limited is a leading supplier and manufacturer of Drilling Equipment such as Drill Rods, Casing, Corebarrels, Drilling Equipment, Drilling Rigs, Bits and Pumps. We supply to both the mining and exploration industries, and provide a range of both standardDrill Adaptors - Drillwell Ltd and non-standard equipment. Our experience and reputation in the field has enabled us to identify our customers immediate and future individual needs both in the UK and the international market. FFP = 0.052 × 13.5 × 10,000 = 7020 psi {\displaystyle {\mbox{ FFP}}=0.052\times 13.5\times 10{,}000=7020{\mbox{ psi}}}Ideally pumping up a tire with a mini pump won't leave you so exhausted you need to go lie down before you hit the road again. robgul wrote:Why not get one of the small ferrule adapters that screws on the Presta and connects to a Schraeder pump? Just be careful not to blow the tyre off the rim!! Cost pence, or I give them away in my shop. With any mini pump there is a compromise between compact dimensions and usability, with a longer pump being easier to stroke than a shorter one, as it takes less effort to reach higher pressures and you can pump more air volume for each stroke. It's not the cheapest bike pump by any stretch, but if you're wanting functions and performance as well, this is one of the best mini bike pumps out there. The Topeak JoeBlow Ace DX towers over many other pumps not only in height but in capability too. We found that in its '60' setting the Ace DX inflated our test 700x25c tubeless tire to 100psi in 11 monster strokes making it the best bike floor pump for swiftly inflating your tire.
