About this deal

I’d use it on my 2008 Specialized hybrid. It’s been a proper workhorse on my commute over the last 13 years and frankly it deserves a little TLC Exactly what I’ve been looking for! Great idea for bike storage, that looks like it takes up no more room than the bike itself!

If its raining really hard while out and about maybe stop and put over bike and rider and wait for a gap in the rain 🙂 The material has been made with the highest possible UV protection, but for best performance and long life, avoid direct sunlight, especially in summer. It is recommended that you rotate your BikeParka regularly to maximise its life. Clean your BikeParka as you would a good quality tent - cleaning with a sponge, warm water and natural soap / mild detergent. No machine washing / tumble drying. The roof has been taken off the bike shelter at work so this could never have been more useful! Mine is a road bike with panniers. My bike is in need of so much love as a result of not having a cover! It’s about to be fixed up but winning this cover would help me keep it nice after lots of hard work to make it nice again! Keep Your Bike in Riding Shape: Best Bike Tool Kits ● Best Repair Stands ● Best Bike Pumps The Best Bike CoversThis very much depends on your use case. If you only need to store the bikes outside at home, and don't need to bring a cover with you out and about then a large, sturdy option like the Storm Skin will likely be the best bet. It would be ideal to cover my trusty Paul Hewitt touring cycle. It deserves a good winter coat after all the miles it has carried me. Is it rip-proof? You want a sturdy, durable bike cover, not one which will tear with even the slightest bit of pressure applied. Bike Parka are attempting to reinvent the bike cover, and make it just a little bit more desirable as well as functionally more effective. What material is it made of? And can it still keep your bike well-covered in even the most treacherous of conditions (particularly handy for those of us in the UK).

Could be useful on a cycling tour to keep the bike dry. I’ve not taken a cover on past tours and sometimes it rains, naturally. Is it worth the extra bulk to carry? As a woman I feel so much more confident cycling now that I have your cycle insurance as I know you will get me home safely if I have a problem. Fathers day -Bikeparka a perfect gift- sorted. Seriously looking at Bike Vault for our office- great design.

Pro Bike Travel Case

I’ve literally just thrown my bike cover away, it had a massive hole in it due to the wind. Need a proper cover for my bike and this would do nicely. OOOH I need this so much. Bike currently outside getting hammered by the elements & I’ve lost two covers to the violent wind that hurtles up the side of our house. Both feature high quality Oxford fabric with double stitching for enhanced durability. The seams are heat-sealed to ensure that no moisture can seep through. As such, this cover protects against winter conditions like rain, snow and ice, but will also keep your bike safe in summer when UV rays and dust are a problem. Does it have reflective qualities? This will obviously be hugely beneficial if you cycle through the dark, say on your daily commutes during the winter months. To clean your BikeParka treat it the same as a good quality tent - sponge clean with warm water and a natural soap/ mild detergent. And don’t machine wash or tumble dry.

The ETA was established in 1990 as an ethical provider of green, reliable travel services. Over 30 years on, we continue to offer cycle insurance, breakdown cover and mobility scooter insurance while putting concern for the environment at the heart of all we do.Bike Parka is the perfect choice for our hard Scottish winter. I will carefuĺly protect my vintage Orange c16r with this fabulous cover. Not everyone uses a bike cover, nor needs one, but for those who do, there's a new kid in town, and he means business. Because of the cover’s bulk and weight, I’d be less inclined to lug it around when commuting. There are covers more suited to this purpose, and Storm Skin doesn't claim it to be a portable protection option. It's not really designed to be a travel cover either, so think more of it as bike protection for long-term use at home. Value and conclusion Overall, it's a good choice if you regularly leave your pride and joy out in the elements and want to know it's well protected. Verdict

My only real issue was with the shape of the cover. In spite of being genuinely roomy, its shape meant it really did only cover the manufacturer's max stated handlebar width of 65cm. Other covers I have used have had a flatter top section above the bar, allowing you to eke out a little extra room – but not the Storm Skin. Does it have grab handles? These can help when both adding and removing the cover, and also just for knowing the right way to position the cover if it otherwise seems unclear. Our fabric has been engineered with the highest possible UV protection, but for maximum performance and long-standing wear try and avoid extended exposure to direct sunlight, especially in summer. We would recommend regular rotation of your BikeParka to maximise its longevity.

Bike cover buyer’s guide

This would be fantastic for my daughter who lives on an exposed hillside with nowhere to store her bike. Hope she can strap it to someting solid! All BikeParkas are made from tough RipStop fabric so shouldn't rip. Accidents can happen however, so if needed your BikeParka can easily be fixed with a tent repair kit. I would use this to show my gravel bike a little love inbetween the regular torture sessions it gets.
