About this deal

Line 7 refers to Rachel Elizabeth Dare. Her combined ability of clear sight paired with knowing the ins and outs of the buildings made her the perfect guide. Nico di Angelo: A son of Hades. He assists Apollo and the other heroes in The Hidden Oracle and The Tower of Nero. He is dating Will Solace.

Riordan showed the novel to the kids he was teaching: they approved. Riordan quit his job as a teacher after landing his book deal – “it was not enormous, but it was a lot of money for a middle-school teacher” – and spent the first few years touring relentlessly. By the third book, Riordan was starting to top the charts.I tried to be there for them, but I wish I had understood what those students were dealing with, and had the language and the emotional capacity to help them more than I did. So that’s always sat with me,” he says. “It made perfect sense to me that a child of Loki would be gender-fluid.” Though he’s had his fair share of tragedies, Nico’s story, like many of the other demigods’ tales, is one of hope. While I’ll always wish for there to be more Nico content, this book is meant to be about Apollo, and I understand that our favorite son of Hades will have his own time to shine. At the end of the day, he truly wants to help people, and I think he’ll get that chance sooner rather than later. (See the spoiler section below.)

When I am done with Tower of Nero, I will have no outstanding publishing contracts for the first time in roughly 20 years. I am sure I will keep writing books. I love it too much to stop! But I am going to allow myself a moment to breathe and enjoy the feeling of not being under a deadline. As to what I might do next, I have plenty of ideas aside from the one-off demigod novels I mentioned above. It’s too early to say which ideas I will pursue, though. I finally figured it out! For whatever reason, Riordan only uses the "step" prefix to refer to Nero. For all the kids, he uses "foster." Once the Council is dismissed, only Zeus and Apollo are left in the room. Zeus tells Apollo he knows he thinks what he did was harsh, and Apollo just doesn't reply. He continues going on about how only Apollo could have erased Python from existence and only he could have freed all the oracles. He says that he's proud of him and while Apollo has so many things to say to him, he keeps it short. He says he understands, and Zeus welcomes him home. Apollo rises asking to be excused since he has several other places to be. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that other than the destruction of my emotions, so I’m not complaining about the pacing. I’m just pointing out that it was very different and it took me by surprise. I couldn't stop myself after I started reading. And that was an issue because I had homework to do and I wasn’t doing it.As for a finale book, Tower of Nero was a great surprise for me. It wasn't maybe as crazy as The Last Olympian and not as powerful as The Serpent's Shadow but still was really good. I was hesitant and excited to read because I thought I was in for another huge disappointment. Both Blood of Olympus and Ship of the Dead have failed me. The former was such a fail for me because Coach Hedge got more lines and exposure than half of the Chosen demigods and what was that final battle with Gaeia? In the latter, the final battle for both Magnus Chase and Loki was very anticlimactic. At the troglodytes' encampment underground, they decide that Will, Nico, and Rachel will go with the troglodytes to disable the vats and alert Camp Half-Blood, while Meg and Apollo surrender themselves to get closer to Nero's fasces, the source of his power and immortality, and destroy it. However, it is revealed that Nero already knew of their plan. Lu's hands are cut off, and she and Apollo are thrown in prison, while Meg is forced by Nero to go to her old room in the Imperial Residences inside the Tower of Nero. The next morning, Apollo, Meg, Nico, and Will all travel to the home of Rachel Dare, the Oracle of Delphi. It is revealed that she has only seen visions when Apollo freed the Oracles, but Python is stopping most of them. Furthermore, a group of cattle suddenly arrived that no human can see, and Rachel can see a mansion that is invisible to everyone but her. The group then talks about the Tower of Nero. Rachel shows them blueprints and points of where she thinks the fasces are. She also shows them the basement where vats of greek fire are stored. Nico says they have to tunnel in with help of the trogs and sabotage the vats before Nero can spill them into the city. However, Rachel is overcome by Python and says the last part of the prophecy, predicting Apollo’s death. Nero recovers and tells Meg she needs to control herself. Meg tries to get a word in but Nero cuts her off telling her he can keep Apollo alive if that's what she truly wants and she just needs to be his daughter again. Meg remains in her spot and Nero tells her that everything becomes much harder when she wakes The Beast. He tells her that she and Apollo are both outnumbered and couldn't take down everyone in the room. Meg tells Nero that she didn't kill her father or cut off Lu's hands. That was all Nero's doing and for that she hates him. Nero's next attempts at manipulating her don't work and she tells him that she's not listening to him anymore and she won't use his weapons to fight anymore. With this she throws her golden rings on the floor. Nero tells her that this is foolish and is about to give his crew the signal to start fighting until a BOOM shakes the chamber. Through all the rubble and dust Apollo can see Nico di Angelo commanding a bull.
