About this deal

The Smart 4 4000 has 3 cleaning modes (Daily Clean, Sensitive & Whitening) compared to the 2 modes (Daily Clean & Sensitive of the Pro 2 2000). It is designed this way to mimic their top of the line iO Series and does away with the large rubber grip on the front of the handle that you find on the 2000. All three of the electric toothbrushes are mid range electric toothbrushes built by Oral-B. They all provide different advantages and disadvantages but which one provides you with the best features, best value for money and best portability. Find out in the detailed review below. 1) Features: Oral-B Pro 2000 vs 3000 vs 2500 Brushing for the full 2 minutes is very important, but just as important, if not more so, is using the right technique. Make sure you learn how to brush your teeth properly — you don’t use an electric brush in the same way you do a manual. The visible pressure sensor will alert you when you are brushing too hard

Even if you do need 2 brush handles, the 2500 can be a more attractive option, because if you buy 2 of the 2500 models you will get 2 charging stands and 2 travel cases compared to only a single charging stand with the 2900. The Oral-B Pro 2 2500 Electric Toothbrush comes with a travel case where you can store the electric toothbrush handle and two electric toothbrush heads. It is a pretty simple construction however it has some neat design features. A pressure sensor is built into both of these models. However, only the Pro 2 has a visible pressure sensor. That said, there are a couple of reasons as to why it could be argued that the Smart 4 4000 can clean the teeth better.

Types of Brush Heads Available

The Pro 2 2000 offers 9,900 oscillations and 45,000 pulsations compared to the 8,800 and 20,000 of the Pro 1000. It should be noted, that the brush heads supplied with either the Pro 2 2000 or 3 – 3000 can differ. Most common is the CrossAction or 3D White brush head. But there are a few different options.

The slight downside is that the textured rubber surface makes it easier for toothpaste residue to build up. Without regular cleaning, I have found a white coating appears.

The reason for getting an electric toothbrush is that they have the ability to clean teeth more efficiently and with less effort than a manual toothbrush, and that is exactly what the Pro 2000 excels at. It has the same rate of oscillations and pulsations as the most expensive models, putting it on a par with the high-end toothbrushes in the range. All the electric toothbrushes on test today have a “Protimer”. This is a helpful on handle timer that buzzes every 30 seconds. After four of these buzzes you will have completed your recommended 2 minutes of brushing. Features: Verdict Scrubbing the teeth hard and fast doesn’t clean them any better. Long term it will actually damage them.

Because of my bad experience with the Oral-B battery I initially wanted to buy a Philips Sonicare DiamondClean but the ones with all bells and whistles (Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart HX9924/03) was more than twice as expensive as the Genius 9000. So at the end a bought a couple of Oral-B PRO 2 2000N ’s and one Oral-B Genius 9000N to see how the very best and best value differ in daily use.The CrossAction cleaning head is the end result of many years of Oral-B research and development. To maximize plaque removal, the CrossAction brush comprises of an intricate pattern of angled, crisscross bristles that can effectively clean the surfaces and contours of the teeth and gum line.
