About this deal

Be silent. You’re not allowed to talk. If you want to communicate, you’ll have to use other means, like pointing and such. Example: Frank has managed to escape and gives one of his dice to Ani (red), who can use it immediately.

Be sure to coordinate your actions and look out for one another as some tasks can be completed only collectively. What's more, even if only one player fails to escape the temple in time, all of you have lost the game! While not as desirable as the Ark of the Covenant, Holy Grail, or Crystal Skull, Escape: The Curse of the Temple's components are nonetheless excellent quality. Everything looks great and is built to last. I’ve played my copy of Escape: The Curse of the Temple A LOT, including with my kids. Despite tiles being well-handled and dice going flying all over the place, the game shows absolutely no signs of wear and tear. Getting Started

Example: Frank has rolled 4 torch icons and activates the magic gem inside his current chamber. He removes one gem from the depot and places it inside the chamber. Note: Do not use the turn of fate too lightheartedly because each additional gem makes it harder to escape. Hold one hand on your head. Yes, you physically have to keep one of your hands on your head, while rolling and moving with your other. It can really get tiresome if you don’t get rid of the curse, and is a lot worse than just keeping your other hand idle and resting. Adventurers who are in the same chamber may help one another. For example, if a player rolls a golden mask and doesn't use it for himself, one other player may use it to break the spell on up to two of his accursed dice.

The game ends after 10 minutes - that is, at the end of the third countdown. If any adventurer is inside the temple when it collapses, then all players have lost the game! Escape: the Curse of the Temple is a real-time adventure game that was designed by Kristian Amundsen Østby and published by Queen Games. As explorers in a cursed temple, you have 10 minutes to explore the temple, find gems, discover the exit, and get everyone out alive. If even one person is left behind, everyone has lost the game. It is not complex. There are very few rules to master, and there is almost no grand strategic thinking. Just think about it like this: Different than other cooperative board games, you don’t have a lot of time to talk through options. While everyone rolls their dice and explores simultaneously and independently, players can benefit from being in the same rooms with one another. Whether that is to pool dice to get rid of more gems, or to save each other from the curse dice they roll, you’ll want to stay close. If at least one of a chamber's gems has been activated, no adventurer may activate any further gems inside this chamber.

A green adventurer, which appears twice on the die – you need these to move from room to room, and to activate some gems. I have played this about 10 tens now and the novelty has worn off. You find that in a panic some people are just not honest and wizz around without really throwing the correct dice, easily done.
