This is normal IPS panel behavior and typically does not affect the overall viewing performance. When you close and then reopen the lid on a laptop, the Connecting and Configuring Displays (CCD) feature in Windows automatically reverts the display mode to the last active selection. This behavior is by design in Microsoft Windows. Hard drive retention: Hard drive retention is not available on models with a soldered hard drive, including XPS 9315 2in1, Chromebooks or Venue tablets, except the Venue 11 Pro.

Performance-wise, the bad news continues. The P2422HE tops out at a peak brightness of 221cd/m² (199cd/m² in Default mode), which is lower than Dell’s quoted peak and substantially worse than rivals such as the BenQ GW2485TC. The result is simply that, in bright conditions, the P2422HE’s panel is harder to see than I would have liked. Due to different video formats (aspect ratio) of DVDs and videos, the monitor may display in screen. On certain video and applications with fast-moving images, imaging ghosting, which appears as a trailing shadow, may occur. Where you put your monitor is almost as important as what model you buy. The monitor should be directly in front of you, at an arm’s length away (between 20-40 inches from your eyes).The top edge of the screen at eye level when you are sitting comfortably. You may need to adjust your chair height or the height of the monitor to achieve this. I’m also not thrilled by the viewing angles on this monitor. As with similarly inexpensive IPS panels, this one suffers from a bit of IPS glow, which means that from certain angles it will appear as though the display is reflecting a white light. It’s not noticeable most of the time but when viewing dark content you might spot it.

Due to legacy platform cannot recognize or output 1920 x 1080, we suggest changing EDID to lower resolution to cover this compatibility problem. When changing the monitor’s resolution from Windows Display Settings, the image quality may not be good. This is normal behavior of the monitor. Dell consumer monitors are inspected at 150-lux ambient lighting (similar to typical office lighting). Dell UltraSharp and Gaming monitors are inspected with a tighter criteria of 70-lux ambient lighting (dimly lit room but not dark). Connect the USB upstream cable (shipped with your monitor) to an appropriate USB 3.0 port on your computer. Some USB devices like external portable hard drive require higher electric current; connect the device directly to the computer.If you’re a home user looking for the kind of monitor your office might ordinarily provide, or an office administrator looking for a well-specced and inexpensive monitor with which to furnish your employees, the Dell P2422HE is a good choice. Wireless USB peripherals responding slowly or only working as the distance between itself and its receiver decreases.
Display mode changes from "Second screen only" to "Extended mode" after opening and closing the laptop LCD. Use a USB-extender cable to position the wireless USB receiver as far away as possible from the USB 3.0 port. Some combinations of USB Type-C to HDMI dongle and video or graphics card (GPU) are not compatible to support the YCbCr color format.
