About this deal

In The Spitting Image Book, released in 1985, there is a reference to a fictitious made-for-TV film entitled Carry On Up the Rectum, satirising the transparency of the puns used for Carry On Up the Khyber and possibly Carry On Up the Jungle. [35] Speedee Taxis is a great success, which means its workaholic owner Charlie starts neglecting Peggy, his wife. Suddenly a fleet of rival taxis appears from nowhere and start pinching all the fares. The rivals are Glamcabs, and they have a secret weapon. All their drivers are very attractive women! Who’s behind Glamcabs? It’s open warfare and only one fleet can survive! But recently, HD masters of Nurse, Cruising. Spying& Teacher turned up on Sky Cinema (UK). The sum of all these masters amount to less than half of them, with couple of the series not even available in widescreen, as well as existing on (possibly) 30-40 year old transfers. During the production of the series, the rights passed between a couple of companies ( Carry On Emmanuelle was made by Hemdale!), and it's likely that some of the original elements haven't survived the transition - Henry, Convenience (aka Round the Bend) and Follow that Camel are 4:3 and pretty ropey-looking) and even if they were repairable, the expense in doing so (or even just brushing them up and transferring) to sell to a rapidly shrinking market - for both physical media and the drastically changing political landscape - renders a complete set moot. To say nothing of the legal minefield with Carry On Columbus, leaving it not even officially released on DVD, a grey-area Australian one about the only option.

Stodge City is in the grip of the Rumpo Kid and his gang. Mistaken identity again takes a hand as a ‘sanitary engineer’ named Marshal P. Knutt is mistaken for a law marshal. Being the conscientious sort, Marshal tries to help the town get rid of Rumpo, and a showdown is inevitable. Marshal has two aids—revenge-seeking Annie Oakley and his sanitary expertise. Carry On Screaming! (1966) That Mitchell and Webb Look features the sketch "Bawdy 1970s Hospital", which portrays a stereotypical Carry On-style hospital with frequent use of double entendre, except by one doctor who has trouble fitting in as he comes out with simple obscenity, unable to understand the distinction.

Carry On Cowboy (1965)

wow! thank you all for the input. Very sad, though. I really enjoyed these. If Indicator can release the Stanley Long box set (which I understand is in a similar vein to Carry On), then I was hoping for these to be released.

For six years Sergeant Grimshawe has been a training sergeant but never the proud leader of a Star Squad. He accepts a bet from another sergeant that in the next intake, his last before retirement, his squad will pass out top. But when he’s lumbered with a motley crew of inductees, Grimshawe suspects he hasn’t a chance of winning the bet. Carry On Nurse (1959) Ritman, Alex (30 May 2016). "British 'Carry On' Producer at Center of Series of Fraud Allegations". The Hollywood Reporter . Retrieved 13 November 2016. Carry On Flying (1962), about a group of RAF recruits. Norman Hudis penned a script and the film got as far as pre-production before being abandoned. Jim Dale was to have had a starring role. Well I would think a more detailed picture would be better. Yes, obviously, a load of the appeal will be in the films being amusing, but that doesn't mean that it won't be nice to see a more detailed picture. If I do decide to get them sometime, I just hope that they've been done properly. Besides, why have a DVD resolution upscaled to 1080p when you can have 1080p resolution with Blu-ray?

Carry On Screaming! (1966)

The Carry On gang strikes again – this time in the bold, brave days of the Armada, a time when countries were judged by their strength at sea, and men by their naval heroism! Several other films were planned, scripted (or partly scripted) or entered pre-production before being abandoned: [11] [12] [13] Carry On Again Nurse [ edit ]

punking: Yep, the UK also have an ultimate collection (probably exactly the same content) on DVD, but they are all based on pre-existing SD transfers. Britbox's HD copies of Carry On Camping and Carry On Up The Khyber are pretty stunning, and were only remastered due to being the most instantly recognisable (Camping) and the one tied most directly to history (Khyber). Like the majority of other collectors, I also have a less-than-kosher DVD edition of Carry On Columbus to plug the gap, coming from the Island World video master. Worldwide first on Blu-ray! Carry On favourite Barbara Windsor makes her debut in this outrageous send-up of the James Bond movies. Fearless agent Desmond Simpkins and Charlie Bind, aided and abetted by the comely Agent Honeybutt and Agent Crump, battle against the evil powers of international bad guys STENCH and their three cronies. Carry On Cleo (1964) Carry On Smoking (1961), revolving around a fire station and various attempts to train a bungling group of new recruits. Carry On Sergeant (1958) is about a group of recruits doing National Service; its title, a command commonly issued by army officers to their sergeants in the course of their routine duties, was in keeping with its setting. The film was sufficiently successful to inspire a similar venture, again focusing on an established and respected profession in Carry On Nurse. When that too was successful, further forays with Carry On Teacher and Carry On Constable established the series. This initial 'pattern' was broken with the fifth film in 1961, Carry On Regardless, but it still followed a similar plot to that of many of the early films—a small group of misfit newcomers to a job make comic mistakes, but come together to succeed in the end.Two Brits - inventor Hengist Pod, and Horse, a brave and cunning fighter - are captured and enslaved by invading Romans and taken to Rome. One of their first encounters in Rome leaves Hengist being mistaken for a fighter, and gets drafted into the Royal Guard to protect Cleopatra. The head of a temp agency (Sid James) finds that all the people on his books are incapable of performing the odd jobs they are hired for. Eager employees include Kenneth Williams, Charles Hawtrey, Kenneth Connor and Joan Sims. An intended sub-sequel to the successful Carry On Nurse was renamed and made as Carry On Doctor in 1967. [14] Carry On Nurse was alluded to twice in Carry On Doctor, firstly with the sub-titles (one reading Nurse Carries On Again and Death of a Daffodil), and again in a later scene with Frankie Howerd commenting on a vase of daffodils in his hospital room. A second attempt at Carry On Again Nurse came in 1979, after the series left Rank Films and moved to Hemdale. A completed script had been written by George Layton [15] and Jonathan Lynn in 1977, but the attempt was cancelled due to the financial loss of Carry On Emmannuelle.
