About this deal

NEW The Dark Dynasty Continues (Featurette) – Explore the relationship between The Batman and his allies as he evolves from mysterious vigilante to the World's Greatest Detective. Batman traces a series of bizarre robberies to a band of homeless children living in Gotham's sewers who have been raised to do the bidding of their master, the Sewer King. Some episodes have spots that look soft, or have very noticeable scratches or dust, but that's due to those issues being present in the source material. It doesn't take away from the insane HD remaster quality in the slightest. Personally, I find it a nice reminder of Batman: The Animated Series' history. Also, blemishes and errors from the DVD transfers (such as the blurry issues from "Shadow of the Bat, Part Two") are also non-existent. There are bits of artifacting, but it's not really noticeable for the most part (though it is obvious in a some episodes, such as in the latter The Adventures of Batman & Robin-era and The New Batman Adventures-era installments), and to the best of my knowledge, the process used to clean up the episodes doesn't have many detrimental impacts. One notable exception is the freezing effect used on Mr. Freeze's helmet, which appears a little smudged. The clean-up process also muddies up some of the rain and mist effects used in some episodes, such as in "The Lion and The Unicorn" and "Riddler's Reform." That said, it's easy to miss and perhaps won't be caught by the majority of viewers. While it's not perfect, it's still an unbelievable transfer, and ultimately makes watching the series something akin to a revelation. Just before Harvey Dent is to undergo surgery to fix the damage to his face in the hopes that it will give him the mental stability needed to erase his Two-Face persona, he is kidnapped by a gang with an unknown leader. Batman and Robin split up to find who abducted Bruce Wayne's old friend, suspecting that the Penguin or Rupert Thorne may be behind the kidnapping.

Angered by Batman's deceit, Robin sets out to find Tony Zucco on his own, while reliving the memories of his parents' deaths and how Bruce took him in as his adopted son at age eight. Eventually, Batman finds Zucco at an old amusement park but breaks his leg during the fight. Robin finally arrives and prepares to kill Zucco in vengeance. Shadow of the Bat: Part I" and "Shadow of the Bat: Part II" / "If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich?" and "Riddler's Reform" Most of the villains featured in the season are reinterpretations of those that fought against the DC heroes who teamed-up with Batman. These villains include Lex Luthor (voiced by Clancy Brown, reprising his role from the DC Animated Universe), Mercy Graves (voiced by Gwendoline Yeo), Metallo (voiced by Lex Lang), Count Vertigo (voiced by Greg Ellis), the Toyman (voiced by Richard Green), the Shadow Thief (voiced by Diedrich Bader), Sinestro (voiced by Miguel Ferrer), and the Mirror Master (voiced by John Larroquette). Only the Terrible Trio (voiced by David Faustino, Grey DeLisle, and Googy Gress), [8] the Wrath (voiced by Christopher Gorham), and Phosphorus are reinterpretations of Batman villains. Phosphorus differs in the show from the comic version, in that Firefly mutates into him, giving him the same radioactive skills and incorporating Phosphorus's insanity, while the Terrible Trio mutated themselves and others into animal hybrids using a mutagen created by Kirk Langstrom. Goslin, Austen (February 13, 2020). "Batman: The Animated Series creator will continue the show — in comics". Polygon . Retrieved February 13, 2020.This season introduces more villains, including Rag Doll (voiced by Jeff Bennett), the Riddler (voiced by Robert Englund), Killer Croc (voiced by Ron Perlman), Spellbinder (voiced by Michael Massee), and Solomon Grundy (voiced by Kevin Grevioux). Another new villain, Hugo Strange (initially voiced by Frank Gorshin, the original Riddler from the 1960s Batman TV series, who is later replaced by Richard Green after Gorshin's death), is portrayed as a secondary character in the season. The characters Yin and Police Chief Rojas make their final appearances at the end of the season. a b [Batman: The Animated Series: The Legacy Continues, Voices of the Knight, Arkham's Files The Joker] The Batman received Annie Award nominations for Best Animated Television Production in 2005 and 2006, and for Best Music in a Television Production in 2006. [14] Still, the digital copies include none of the special features, as far as I can tell. That means The Heart of Batman, along with episode commentaries and featurettes, are disc-only. Given that most new releases include the special features with the digital copies, this is a letdown.

Side guide

While Bruce is in Europe on a Wayne Enterprises business trip, the theft of a jade cat statue occurs at Gotham State University. Barbara Gordon investigates as Batgirl, only to run into Catwoman, who claims she is also investigating and that the theft was not her style. The two team up to find the statue, with Robin tailing them, and Roland Daggett is revealed to be involved. The entire series was released on DVD as Batman: The Animated Series Volume Four (From The New Batman Adventures). The Animated Series was accompanied by a tie-in comic book, The Batman Adventures, which followed the art style and continuity of The Animated Series instead of other Batman comic books. The Batman Adventures, through several format changes to reflect the changing world of the series and its spin-offs, outlasted the series itself by nearly a decade, finally being cancelled in 2004 to make way for the tie-in comic of the then-new, unrelated Batman animated series; The Batman. The character of Harley Quinn's first official comic appearance occurred in issue No. 12 of the series. It has become highly sought after by collectors and fans of the character. The success of the Warner Archive Collection’s 2017 Blu-ray release of the sequel films Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993 – reviewed here) and Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero (1989 - reviewed here) apparently convinced the studio that there was significant fan interest in a Blu-ray box set of the entire series. And so the studio has now released exactly that. Throughout the second season, Batman continues to act outside of the law even though he has Detective Yin as an ally. Batman begins making a name for himself as a force for good when he saves a group of policemen from certain doom. In this season, his heroic act prompts the officers to support him rather than pursue him as a criminal. In the season finale, Police Chief Rojas finally uncovers Yin's involvement with Batman, forcing her to go on the run. Around this time, Commissioner James Gordon (voiced by Mitch Pileggi), the main law enforcement figure in most of the Batman mythos, rejects Rojas' belief that Batman is a criminal. Commissioner Gordon instead believes Batman to be an ally of the Gotham police force and is particularly impressed when Batman and Yin capture the Joker, Penguin, and Riddler. He is revealed to be Batman's secret ally off-screen and develops a signaling searchlight, the Bat-Signal, allowing Batman to know that the police are firmly on his side.
