Towers of Midnight - Chapter 17_57 - Partings, and a Meeting-683452640 Towers of Midnight Audiobook - TWOT Book 13 It seems to me that another part of doing honor to an author who is no longer with us is knowing when to write "The End" and cease the production of work in his world. It was abundantly clear to me that he wanted the series to be finished; if it had not been clear, I would never have undertaken this work." No, I talk about his viewpoints. If there’s one thing I wish to learn from Robert Jordan, it’s how to accomplish this—how to make you feel a character’s culture, history, temperament, and current emotional state by the way they describe the simple things in the world around them. I think I have improved at this. But it’s one of the things I believe I’ll be working on for my entire career. Increased Subtlety Brandon Sanderson was devastated by the news of Jordan's death; he has been a fan of the series since he was 15 years old and he cites Jordan as an inspiration. [30] [33] [36] [37] He was known for the novel Elantris and the Mistborn series at the time he was chosen. He did not want to imitate Jordan's style as he felt it would "turn into parody." [38] He calls the wolf by his human name: " Noam." Boundless' mind vanishes, but Perrin now knows where to find him, and goes there; the place in the sending--a small village, barn and a cage. Once he arrives, they converse, Perrin as his human self, Noam as his wolf self. During that conversation, Perrin comes to realize that Noam chose the wolf dream over the waking world because his life was filled to bursting with pain. "The wolf is peace," Boundless/Noam says. Perrin realizes something about balance, for Elyas, for Noam, and for himself and he comes to an epiphany: the wolf dream will never take him. Oh, it has its own dangers when he loses control, but that fear he had been nurturing since the day he let Noam free, the fear that some day the wolf dream would overcome him, just as he thought it had done in Noam's case, was a false fear. He has found that final thing that he needed to understand.

Elayne and her honor guard ride into Cairhien. They proceed to the Sun Throne, also accompanied by Bertome and Lorstrum’s troops. An Aes Sedai announces that Rand cedes the throne to Elayne. Birgitte inspects the Sun Throne before Elayne sits and finds a poisoned needle. Elayne takes the throne and announces that the forces of Andor and Cairhien will march together to the Field of Merrilor to meet Rand. Robert Jordan's work has been a formative influence and an inspiration for a generation of fantasy writers.” —Brent Weeks, New York Times bestselling author of The Way of Shadows Towers of Midnight contains 57 chapters, a prologue and an epilogue and consists of 29 unique POVs and 148 individual POVs. I also understand that "bubbles of evil" are hitting the "Wheel of Time" world with greater regularity. But going into great detail as though these episodes are integral battle scenes is like hitting the pause button and trapping the plot line in freeze-frame mode. Mat fights the gholam, who has killed Mat’s serving man and two Redarms. Teslyn helps fight it off by throwing furniture at it with the Power. It kills two more Redarms and escapes. Mat tells Thom and Noal that they need to hunt and kill the gholam before they leave for the Tower of Ghenjei. He also needs to talk to Elayne about Aludra’s dragons. Robert Jordan was a giant of fiction whose words helped a whole generation of fantasy writers, including myself, find our true voices. I thanked him then, but I didn’t thank him enough.” —Peter V.
