The Ryobi ONE+ Airstrike 18G is probably the best battery powered nail gun for 2 nd fix you can get hold of. It’s incredibly easy to use, takes a decent range of nail lengths, and can be set to continuous fire mode. Light weight and robust construction are the two most important factors to consider when buying nail guns. Aluminium bodies are common, but you can find brad nailers with magnesium or plastic bodies too.
This DeWalt nail gun is mechanically powered which means you don’t need to use gas. This also allows the nailer to be used at a wider range of temperatures than gas-powered products. It’ll also save you money on running costs. The brushless motor is maintenance-free and long-lasting. The nailer is powered by an Li-Ion battery. This is a bare tool so the battery is not included, but this high-quality nail gun still makes extremely good value.
If you choose a battery-powered nail gun you will need to factor in the cost of the battery and charger (unless you are going for a cordless Ryobi nail gun and already have other One+ power tools). Let’s assume you are looking to do some skirtings, architraves, some glazing bead, or any of the lighter second fix jobs you will not be disappointed by this gun. As you can see softwood or hardwood the pins disappear leaving only the tiniest mark as a trace. So it won’t matter what material you are firing it, you’ll finish cleanly. For something heavier the requires more hold like a window board I would look to the 18gauge range which we will review next.The best nail guns have selectable firing modes – sequential and continuous. Sequential fire means that one pull of the trigger, once you’ve pushed the nose up to the workpiece, results in one nail being fired. I didn’t run a battery out when using it all day but I did swap over at two bars – I felt as if I was losing power. I am not sure if this is the age of my batteries or not. Shots per Charge This handy little cordless staple and nail gun is great for hobbies. It weighs just over 1 kg. It can still put staples or brad nails into wood without much effort at all. It’s probably the simplest little nail gun I’ve had a chance to use as well. There are no dials to fiddle with, it’s simply a case of load it up and get firing. I love the reload mechanism too.
