About this deal

I have just specifically re-cleaned the entire house to recreate a new, clean plan - even with paper on mirrors and windows and doors to stop it scanning the outside and "mirror" rooms! It took almost seven hours including one charging cycle and, disappointingly it decided not to complete the job properly. Slim design with a height of only 93mm, meaning it is much slimmer than other floor cleaning robots with Laser Mapping and Navigation Technology. The Ecovacs Deebot OZMO T8 AIVI uses camera-based AIVI technology ("Artificial Intelligence and Visual Interpretation").

All robots are also equipped with a 2.5 or 3L Auto-Empty station, with fully sealed disposable dust bags that can hold dust for 60 or even 75 days. T10 and T20 OMNI stations are capable of auto mop washing and drying with hot air. T10 washes with cold water, while T20 OMNI washes with hot water (131 F).That’s why the robot vacuums can reach deep into the corners and remove most of the dirt. Cleaning result with long pet hair (and human hair) For object avoidance, all models are equipped with the same T10 OMNI AIVI 3D technology with an AI processor and 3D light sensors. The navigation and mapping system again is the most advanced on the market today and the same as T10 OMNI – TrueMapping 2.0 with dToF sensors and LiDar technology. All robots always create the fastest and most efficient path for cleaning so as not to miss a spot. In the smartphone app, customized 3D maps are available (the same functionality as for T10 OMNI), where you can set schedules and no-go or no-mop areas.

This is the most critical aspect when shopping for a robot vacuum cleaner. But the most important thing to ask yourself is, what model gives you value for money? Personally, I find all Deebots an excellent deal for their price.

Upgraded Smart Navi 3.0 Laser Mapping and Navigation Technology which scans, maps, and plans an efficient cleaning path based on a user’s home.

Then the 3D camera evaluates the interruptions of the laser beams. That’s how the robot vacuum detects obstacles and avoids them. You can also set up the water intensity individually for each room. This way, the robot vacuum will mop the tiles in the bathroom with the highest water output and the sensitive laminate floor in the living room with a lower water intensity.

You then have to wait for it to rescan the entire house the next time you tell it to clean, leaving all the doors open (awkward with kids and pets), then re-identify all the rooms, re-enter all the carpet no-mop zones, all the virtual barriers and finally reconfigure all the schedules. In a large house like ours (over 200m2) this takes the better part of a day as it needs a recharge 2/3 through. The technology constantly gets new data material and, thus, improves and learns all the time. Therefore, we assume that the obstacle detection rate will increase significantly in the future. Navigation is vital when comparing the Ecovacs models ( Deebot OZMO T8 vs T8 AIVI vs 950). Differences and similarities in navigation and obstacle avoidance

It is imperative to note that ILIFE, also a Chinese brand, was a massive competition for this growing brand, so diversifying the market was a brilliant idea from ECOVACS. If that bothers you, then the Deebot OZMO T8 with laser-based obstacle detection might be a good alternative. Laser-based obstacle detection with Ecovacs Deebot T8

I bought one thinking it would be a really convenient way to lighten my cleaning load, as I imagined myself switching it on as I leave the house," says Melanie.
