About this deal

The build of 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle was nothing short of breathtaking. This is a LEGO castle true and true, but upsized and benefiting from the plethora of new parts, and techniques that you’d expect in a 4000+ piece set in 2022. Lion Knights’ Castle has instantly become one of my favourite LEGO sets of all time. I’m a big fan of Vintage LEGO (I get so much more satisfaction from my vintage collection than my modern collection), and a big Castle fan, so this in essence is my dream set. The Wizard Magisto also makes a return, albeit in very unassuming robes. There is no printing at all, and he sports a bushy new beard, but blue wizards like Magisto have been a staple in the more mystical LEGO Castle sets, so it seems right for him to be here. From the front you can see the main entrance room of the castle, once the drawbridge and portcullis are added however is it not as visible. Bag 20 – Completing the keep’s first level and the drawbridge

And those portcullis and drawbridge play features are way more fun than you would expect, particularly because –inadvertently – there is a way to set it up so as to drop the gate down and have it automatically pop the drawbridge up into a defensive position. As it is in considering the intended functionality of being able to ratchet up the portcullis and drawbridge separate to each other, both work so smoothly and sit as excellent examples of the all-round care and attention that has gone into creating the ultimate LEGO castle in 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle. — LEGO ICONS 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle characters — There are just the 22 minifigures included in 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle, and with such a quantity there’s barely a complaint to be made. For a set this large, it takes a character count this high to populate it and, furthermore, the selection made available here offers variety, colour, charm and play to really help tell the story within the set – one that is reminiscent of stories past from the LEGO Castle theme. Classic Castle staples like the skeleton and even a surprise appearance of Magisto round out the minifigure lineup. At 4,514 pieces, this is well and truly in biggest LEGO sets ever created territory, and a rarity for a non-Star Wars set, so you know LEGO means business.First up, here’s a look at the Lion Knights, who make a triumphant return and feature all-new highly detailed torsos and printed legs. The red, blue and yellow are just glorious to behold, especially when they make up almost half of all the minifigures in the set – it’s superb that you’re almost getting a small army of Lion Knights ready for conquest.

Time to highlight another wonderful bit of construction wizardry! The square balcony area outside of the kid’s room is built on the hinged section of the larger castle, so it has to go through some contortions when changing display modes. The magic happens thanks to this heavily hinged bit of masonry. Lion Knights’ Castle is an outstanding LEGO experience where money is not the object at play. It may take many months to save up for 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle, but the reward for doing so is so very special and unique to you that there’s no need to think twice when you come to that moment to spend hundreds on just one LEGO set. The mortgage can wait. — LEGO ICONS 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle pictures — And last but certainly not least, everyone’s favourite Castle faction – the Forestmen! After making a triumphant return in 40567 Forest Hideout, it’s great to see 3 Forestmen included in the set – we get a male, female and a young girl all garbed in Forestmen green.Lion Knights’ Castle will go on sale on 3 August 2022 for LEGO VIPs, and 8 August for everyone else, and will be available exclusively from LEGO.com or your local LEGO store. When closed, the completed model measures over 14 in. (38 cm) high, 17 in. (44 cm) wide and 12 in. (33 cm) deep, but it grows significantly when you open it up to reveal the interior.

This is the one spot where the humor of this set falls flat for me. I get that a skeleton in the dungeon is a classic trope, but these days this joke hits differently. And they even doubled down on it with a quip from the wizard in the instructions. I dunno. For a castle described as “a place of trades and treaties, as well as a haven for those in need” having a prisoner die of neglect sure calls the rest of the spin into question. When looking at the piece count you would think the box is much larger than it is is so it is important to break the set down to not just price per part but also price per gram. With LEGO increasing the prices of sets price per part is not always the best indicator. Listed below is some key weight, density and price points for this set. Later in this article we will review how this value compares to other similar sets. Again, attention to detail and geometry comes into play, as the roof features a gapless join along that odd angle. If that weren’t cool enough, she also has a paper cape, with the Lion Knights’ sigil printed onto it, which just elevates her to a whole new level of awesome.
