About this deal

Chris Hoffman is the former Editor-in-Chief of How-To Geek. Chris has personally written over 2,000 articles that have been read more than one billion times---and that's just here at How-To Geek. If you’re looking for a no-frills keyboard from a reliable brand, then you wouldn’t find a better option than Microsoft All-In-One Media Keyboard. Build-wise, the keyboard is made of hard plastic and can take the occasional spills and drops here and there. On the right side of the keyboard, you’ll find the 3-inch touchpad that supports all your favorite Windows gestures including pinch-to-zoom, two-finger scroll, dragging, and more. On top of that, the keyboard consists of customizable media hotkeys for a seamless HTPC experience. With Logitech K600, you can either choose to connect via Bluetooth or the 2.4GHz wireless option. And while most wireless keyboards offer only up to 10m of range, the K600 has an exceptional range of 15m, enough for the largest of living rooms. The K600 can connect up to three devices at once allowing you to easily switch between your smart TV, PC, and mobile devices.

Logitech Custom Settings version 1.00.549 (keyboard programmable, touchpad programmable), Logitech Unifying Software (connection utility) Logitech shares a lot of keys between function keys row with who-knows-what-the-icons-do level of guesswork involved. They also perversely replace often in many of their keyboards for no reason many keys which have text with cryptic hard to decipher icons which are not even standard across all their keyboards. For instance, I can't instantly tell where is Print Screen in MX keys. Does it even exist? There doesn't seem to be any Menu key in Logitech. Or is that the Menu key above the Numeric keypad and the Print Screen with the Camera icon next to it? Control the pointer precisely and accurately from a distance with the built-in multi-touch touchpad.I’ll say again, I’m biased against mini-keyboards, so using the Rii R12 mini-keyboard was more frustrating than anything else. BUT…if you like them and you know what you’re getting yourself into, then this is a solid device that is built very well. Consider this a personal preference choice. The Best HTPC Keyboard: The Verdict That may not sound like a lot, but if you’ve got anything other than “little kid hands”, you’ll probably have difficulty typing without errors. In my normal typing test, I had rattled off three typos before I even finished the first sentence. The extra space on the K400 Plus comes in handy and I don’t think Rii gained anything by making the keyboard slightly smaller than its competition. Safety is a priority when it comes to using Android TV boxes, and I'll show you how to use them securely with the right antivirus and VPN options. Your peace of mind is essential, and I'll make sure you have the necessary tools to protect your device and data.

Now that I’ve got that out of the way, let’s talk about the second keyboard from RiiTek, the Rii Mini K12 wireless keyboard. To determine if your Logitech device is Unifying compatible, look for this Unifying logo on your device. Entertainment is at the core of the Android TV box experience, and I'm passionate about helping you discover the best options. Whether it's streaming services, IPTV services, or other forms of entertainment, I'll assist you in finding the perfect fit that aligns with your preferences and budget. In terms of holding the keyboard, the Rii R12 actually has a really good feel. It’s just heavy enough to feel solid, but light enough to not be cumbersome.Speaking of solid, the Rii R12 has a metal case which gives this keyboard almost no flex – even if you really try to bend it. I think that’s my favorite feature. I’ve seen far too many tech accessories are cheaply built, so this really makes me happy. It’s a quality statement that Rii made about their product. Kudos. Since I like to work and play from a living-room setup with a 55″ inch TV and eGPU and am a proud rabbit-father, I’ve been a wireless keyboard and mouse fan for years now. I’ve tried a few different options for my setup over the years, and in this article I’d like to share my thoughts regarding a Logitech K400 Plus, K830, and MX Keys wireless keyboard comparison, as part as my search for the best such keyboard. The Keyboards Keep in mind though, Logitech makes it very clear that this is a “living room HTPC keyboard for your connected TV.” Silent keys won’t disturb your friends during the movie.

Limited options: I can’t change the keyboard layout. On my desktop, I like to type in Dvorak, which is available on Windows, Mac and Chrome. On Infinite Office, I can only type in QWERTY. If your receiver and product have the below logo, you have the Logi Bolt receiver and a Logi Bolt compatible product. You can resize any window (not just Narrow, Normal or Wide) by hovering the mouse to either edge of the window and dragging the bar that appears. Dell has AA batteries which last a long time – a year with Bluetooth low energy, it's a lot cheaper too even if bought together with the mouse. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. though. The Logitech K400 is a great budget keyboard and so is the Microsoft wireless media keyboard. That’s not to say the original K400 is a bad keyboard. It’s really not. But it was starting to show its age, which is why it needed a refresh. Overheating and limited battery: The Oculus Quest battery can last only a couple of hours, and even if you connect your headset via USB, it can eventually overheat. I’m disappointed that it doesn’t offer anything substantially different except that it is SO much heavier than the Logitech! By making typing easy even in the dark, this illuminated keyboard ensures your TV entertainment is fun and hassle-free.
