You’re left with a smooth creamy and slightly powdery nutty almond vibe with a hint of vanilla sweetness and subtle floral undertones. It is also sometimes added to food, like vanilla ice-cream: a microquantity of castoreum significantly enriches the flavor of vanilla.

In addition to these fairly simple compounds, a number of nupharidinederivatives were found in castoreum, their total content is about 0.16%, including one specific compound named castoramine. It is believed that the presence of these substances is directly related to the diet of beavers: they are alkaloids' metabolites contained in yellow water lily (lat. Nuphar).

OfG is a mature scent more suited for the 25-up. Listed as unisex (but leans masculine) and best for fall, winter and cool spring nights. This is an EDP and projects nicely (just over arm’s length) for the first few hours leaving a gorgeous scent trail. But does it live up to its name?When it first opens it has a slight similarity to the fragrance Spicebomb by Viktor & Rolf (except Rehab is smoother, richer, and far superior smelling). Always apply the fragrance to your pulse points, and Initio always advise not to rub it in; always pat it in to let the molecules settle.

Rehab opens up fresh, clean and spicy with a blast of bergamot citrus mixed with lavender and some spicy tobacco. Atomic Rose is a mature sophisticated scent more suited for the 25-up crowd and is unisex (leans slightly feminine). Later, we can also find it in much more modest quantities in Cabochar Gres, Aramis, Knize Ten, YSL Kouros, YSL Opium, Caron Yatagan, Paloma Picasso, Chanel Antaeus.The recently re-formulated perfume Beaver is really more about a beaver's life and habitat than their castoreum; there is a lot of water, linden blossom, watery leaves, bitter shootings, tree juices, and just a little bit of leather notes. As it settles the heliotrope creeps in… joined with a hint of sandalwood and vanilla to smooth everything out. This works well all year round, except in the high summer heat: special occasions, dates, work/office safe (spray lightly), casual, nights out, etc… Be careful not to overspray this one. You only need 1–2 sprays MAX or this could become annoying to others around you (it will fill a room!). The fragrances come in beautiful bottles that have a soft rubber-like texture coating, adhered with their logo on the front (the name of each fragrance is engraved on the top of the cap).
