About this deal

Wet sand with #400 sandpaper and water. Sand finish lightly until ridges are flat and smooth. Wipe dry. If desired add an additional coat of Hard Coat Mod Podge. You can see what each of the Mod Podge formulas look like when they are dry below! I painted them on a gray piece of paper, so the point is to show you the light reflecting properties. You can put Mod Podge on the top of a plate, but you’ll need to put a clear glass plate over that before putting your food down. I’ve heard you can make your own Mod Podge. Is this true? Mod Podge comes in many finishes, but the main formulas are matte, satin, and glossy so which one you want to use will depend on the look you are going for.

What surfaces can I use this formula on? Wood, canvas, tin, metal, terra cotta, and more. If fabric is your base, use Fabric Mod Podge. If you’re new to Mod Podge, you’ll definitely want to see this list. Invest in a bottle (find out where to buy Mod Podge) and a brush and get started. The various formulas are not the same thing with a different bottle label. The specialized formulas have different ingredients, and different prices too. There’s a reason for that. I would say that you should try it, and don’t be discouraged if you get wrinkles. They add character! I know a lot of people sell their projects online, and therefore want to ship their items. Read my instructions here for doing it without ruining everything!Absolutely – well mostly. You can use it with acrylic paint, and I highly recommend FolkArt Acrylic Paint as my brand of choice. These days I’m loving their multi-surface formula. I do not recommend using Mod Podge with latex paint.

Prepare the wood surface. This can include painting with acrylic paint– but the painting is optional. Tip: You can remove dried Mod Podge from glass using an X-Acto knife or razor blade and some scraping power. However, I try to minimize clean up like this because it’s time consuming and a pain. So I attempt to be neat when decoupaging glass as much as possible! Mod Podge is a special kind of water-based, non-toxic glue, sealer and finishing product in one jar that you can use on almost any surface you want. It allows you to transfer images from printed paper, napkins, newspapers and more onto a surface.Because of water sensitivity, it’s not recommended that you use for preservation purposes. What’s the hardest thing you have ever Mod Podged? Okay. Now after the three classics were born, the people at Plaid thought, “What if we developed Mod Podge in different formulas – for specific needs?” So they did. Which is why we have a Mod Podge formula guide!
