Despite its charm, Lady Million Eau My Gold! does come with its downsides. Its staying power could be improved; the scent tends to fade sooner than one might expect from a perfume in its price range. The sillage, while not overwhelming, is equally modest. The longevity of Lady Million Empire is excellent, 6+ hours on the skin with reasonable sillage and projection. Certainly long enough to get you noticed. Lady Million Privé Eau de Parfum opens quite sharply for a few moments then evolves into a heady combination of bitter-chocolate coated raspberry sweetened with honey. The slightly almond scent of heliotrope also creeps in. The chocolate notes intensify over the next 20 minutes and met with beautifully smooth vanilla, earthy patchouli and light woody notes. Once fully settled, Privé becomes a warm and comforting mix of dark chocolate, honey and intoxicating patchouli entwined with vanilla. Fantastically dark and mysterious.

Presented in a taller version of the golden coloured cut diamond-shaped flacon with a lighter coloured perfume. Looks very pretty and I prefer this bottle style to the original. After the colossal success of the men’s classic 1 Million, it was inevitable that a striking feminine fragrance would follow. The original fruity-floral Lady Million Eau de Parfum is just that. With the most prominent fragrance masters in the business; Anne Flipo, Beatrice Piquet, Dominique Ropion and Bruno Jovanovic, you know you are in for something unique. Lady Million Absolutely Gold Eau de Parfum is a seductive blend of delicious raspberries, and white floral notes enveloped in a complex base of warm spices. Absolutely gold is pure parfum which provides greater longevity and note intensity than EDT and EDP. As for when to wear, Lady Million is an any-season evening fragrance which is equally suitable in the daylight hours of autumn/winter. Best worn when you are all dressed up and ready to impress. The value for money, unfortunately, does not meet expectations. While not exorbitantly priced, there are other perfumes in the market that offer a similar scent profile with better longevity and sillage at a lower price.But Anne and I have the same sensitivity to flavours. People who care about perfume spend time discussing it, and it’s the same with spirits or wine. You train your nose and palate. I could sense what Anne was trying to do [with the juice] and I had to translate that into my drink, which was difficult but fascinating.”

Opening with a burst of fresh citrus from orange and grapefruit entwined with sweet mango, Eau My Gold! feels like summertime in a bottle right from the start. The heart of romantic, powdery violet and soapy orange blossom is staggeringly beautiful. A musky base adds a touch of intrigue and glamour, with woody notes and warming amber clearly present. I feel Eau My Gold! stands on its own rather than a flanker of the original. Lady Million Empire Eau de Parfum is the attention-hungry quirky sister of the original fragrance. Crafted by Anne Flipo and Jean-Christophe Herault, this vampish chypre floral fragrance adds a layer of boozy fruits to the originals DNA.As for when to wear, I personally found this fragrance to be perfect for any season. Its warmingly spiced base works well in autumn/winter, yet it’s fruity/floral notes are equally happy in spring/summer. Patience is needed when wearing this fragrance, as the full extent of the base doesn’t reveal itself for 20 minutes or so.
