About this deal

A pumpkin scooper: This tool is used to remove the pumpkin guts from your pumpkin. It’s also helpful for shaping and sculpting your pumpkin.

Apples are also a food we often associate with Halloween, and like the pumpkin, this could partially stem from the seasonality of the fruit, which peaks at this time of year. But the significance of apples is also deep-rooted in mythology and folklore. Celtic and Pagan tradition placed apples as powerful sources for divination and prophecy, and when the Roman’s came to Britain, they brought their own prophetic associations with the humble fruit. On the 1 st of November, the Romans celebrated a harvest festival dedicated to the goddess Pomona, goddess of plenty and abundance. Part of the festivities involved unmarried, young people attempting to bite into an apple floating in water or suspended from a string. The first to bite into the apple would be deemed next in line to marry. This tradition became embedded in Celtic festivals, like Samhain, and has naturally been adopted into Halloween celebrations. One of the colloquial names given to the 31 st October, in Britain at least, was ‘Snap-Apple Night’, deriving from this practice, and later developing into the modern Halloween game of ‘Bobbing-for-Apples’. Sweet treats for the dead The "belly" pumpkin received intersecting 1/2" slots, allowing it to slide down onto the plywood frame. Slots were short at first, gradually lengthened them with a paring knife until the entire pumpkin settled into place. Be sure to get the slots pointed in the right directions, so that gravity will hold your skeleton together.Pumpkin carving templates: These can also be used to create complex designs on your pumpkin. Simply print out the template and tape it to the pumpkin. Then use a sharp knife to cut along the outlines.

Second, take your time. Carving pumpkins is not a race! Rushing through the process can lead to mistakes. The Good Dinosaur continues to be a popular character to carve on pumpkins. This stencil we shared in 2015 continues to be popular with Disney Pixar and Dinosaur fans. Enjoy the information below from that original post. We hope you are enjoying “The Good Dinosaur” on Disney Plus or DVD. If your kids are fans, please note we have included the link to free printable coloring sheets from that same movie. Kids will love carving their favorite dinosaur on a pumpkin. Popular dinosaurs include Triceratops, T-Rex, Stegosaurus, Brontosaurus, Velociraptor, Pterodactyl, Ankylosaurus, and more! Unless you're crafting to impressive tolerances, your skeleton will be a bit wobbly when assembled. A few well-placed screws will remove the wobble and improve portability. With these tips in mind, you’ll be ready to create some amazing pumpkin carvings of your own! What Pumpkin Carving Tools Do You Need to Carve Pumpkins

First, you’ll need to gather your supplies. You’ll need pumpkins, of course, as well as carving tools, candles, and patterns. You may also want to have some newspaper or a drop cloth to protect your surfaces.A drill: A drill can be used to create holes in your pumpkin for eyes, mouths, or other designs. You can also use it to create texture on your pumpkin by drilling small holes all over the surface. First, be sure to use a sharp knife. A dull knife will make the process more difficult and can result in accidents. Take a look at my other entertainmentarticles, so you can keep up with the latest TV, movie and book news. Obviously being a pumpkin fan and having access to lots of advanced pumpkin carving patterns means I can totally deliver on this front (provided I have enough time). Cut notches in your pumpkin parts to help them to exploit gravity, resting against the plywood or against each other. Then wire them in as needed.
