I do think we were fortunate with both the weather and location but if you are looking for an occasional tent for the odd night away and don’t want to break the bank, it’s okay.

Mine is the older design with two zips and a single large door, I can see why the changed the design to the single zip and tie back doors as the rain goes everywhere when opening the door either during or after rain. Even in quite blowy weather, it stayed rock solid when properly pegged at the corners and with the guy ropes firmly fixed. Some shelters are real rubbish and you just know that they are going to fall or be blown to bits at the slightest gust. These are not traditional and have a clip which is difficult to remove and almost impossible to reclip when under strain and certainly without nipping your skin and fingers. Our only disappointment is the poor level of UV proofing, which meant it only just lasted 2 summers.We bought the shelter for a few different reasons -to use as a shelter when having friends over for a bbq,when my husband wants to work on his motorbike when the weather’s not great,as a shelter for doing some diy. Perhaps it would be best to do it North to South that way the long legs between civilisation will come at the beginning when you are fresher. Being an inexpensive tent it is plagued with cheaper tent pegs which wasn’t a problem for us, but something you might want to consider replacing.
This tent is certainly not meant for living in as headroom is at a premium, I ended up with an achy back hunched over my stove in the offset porch as me fancying a brew and a light shower happened to coincide. An important tip here is to make sure that any mat you put down is smaller than the tent’s footprint. The material wraps nice and snug around the framework adding to the already quite strong structure, even before you make use of the ground pegs or the corner guy lines. Low and angled down enough to take strong winds with ease, you loose out on headroom but its no problem getting changed inside. I was not rushing and also stopped to take some photos while pitching, so I would say that next time I pitch up it will probably take about 20 minutes.So whether it’s your first or your 100th time sleeping outside Eurohike has the equipment and accessories to make your camping trip a truly memorable experience. The poles seem ok and up to the job, as all tents I am going to sleep in I always fully guy out when pitching and had no issues in wind and rain.
