About this deal

It has a lot of humor and heart, and makes Batman relatable which almost no other story in this volume does.

It isn't all bad, you get a few crazy scenes like Robin covering Batman by firing a 12 gauge at police officers. But while Jason shows great potential to be a hero, he is also a troubled young man, consumed with bitterness and anger. They are two very different kinds of relationships he has with them, but we see how it affects the things he does, and the faith and trust he has in them. The issues are interrupted by Year One which makes things a bit funny in regard to Jason’s timeline. Death and suicide are recurring themes in Starlin's work: Personifications of Death appeared in his Captain Marvel series and in a fill-in story for Ghost Rider; Warlock commits suicide by killing his future self; and suicide is a theme in a story he plotted and drew for The Rampaging Hulk magazine. Batman tells Harvey he needs his other hand to pull himself up, but without the coin, Harvey can't decide what to do. The choice to include two issues prior to the advent of the new Todd is entirely bizarre, especially given the lack of explanation for the Todd reboot.

Continue your adventures from stories first printed in 1987 with this fantastic hardback volume 110 - Batman: Second Chances (part 2) from DC Comics Graphic Novel Collection! Job Number G-3305 Genre superhero Characters Batman [Bruce Wayne]; Robin [Jason Todd]; Alfred Pennyworth; Commissioner James Gordon; Scarecrow [Jonathan Crane] (villain); Joker (villain); Penguin [Oswald Cobblepot] (villain); Two-Face [Harvey Dent] (villain); Riddler [Edward Nigma] (villain); Mr. But of course, the one and only Dark Knight easily defeated the delusional man before stating he’ll get Carma some help. Now, I probably quit about fifteen seconds before I would have been fired…but I beat ‘em to the punch. In some respects, Second Chances forms the first of a "Replacement Robin" trilogy that continues in Batman: Death In The Family and Batman: A Lonely Place of Dying. The story jumps back to when Bats and a street-wise Jason first meet, as the kid was tryna steal the Batmobile’s tires! Boyd Kirkland has listed this episode among his favorite to have worked on during Batman: The Animated Series, due to its great action scenes and exploration of Two-Face. When that placement falls through, Bruce Wayne takes in Jason Todd and a new Boy Wonder is shortly christened.

Inside the hospital, the doctors tell Harvey that his bad side has been mostly submerged and they believe that if they remove the scars that created Two-Face, the persona will be gone forever. Nobody at DC Comics informed me of this, but a collection of all of my BATMAN comic book stories has been published.Though some of the ideas that Collin’s put forth were good and ended up becoming iconic (Like Jason’s new origin) the stories themselves fall flat and the Starlin tales are a clear upgrade.

Resurrecting him as the antihero Red Hood was an egregious mistake, as his death had more meaning to the mythos than his brief life ever did, and should've been held sacrosanct. The Dark Knight sees Jasons potential to be a hero-as well as the rage and revenge that torment him. Batman is growing and changing right before our eyes and the transition is something to see: awkward, imperfect, yet captivating all the same. Discover the origin of one of comics’ most controversial characters in BATMAN: SECOND CHANCES-collecting the earliest adventures of Jason Todd, the second Robin, from the minds of legendary creators Max Allan Collins, Jim Starlin, Jim Aparo, Dave Cockrum, Denys Cowan, Norm Breyfogle, Jo Duffy and more! He’s frustrated that Batman adopted another partner so quickly and planted the seeds that Nightwing is a version of Batman who worked through his trauma and came out better on the other side.
