About this deal

His acute sense of smell enables him to determine which whiskies will combine successfully with others, and those which will fight. It’s a medium body expression with some sweetness on the palate, and a finish that sees some salty brine notes appearing. That’s just the opening salvo, however, for fruits and nuts and grains follow in a surprisingly volley. It may not be reproduced in any way whatsoever without Wm Morrisons Supermarkets Limited prior consent, nor without due acknowledgement. It is warm in colour with aromas of fruit, cracked pepper and dark chocolate and flavours of nectarines, ginger and freshly ground coffee.

Now, there are two kinds of whisky: malt whisky, used essentially in the creation of blended whiskies, or bottled in small proportions as a single malt; and grain whisky, which is combined with malt whisky to create the famous blends. A mellow and smooth scotch with no standout flavours (to me at least) a light sweet note from the Sherry cask and a bit of smoke at the very end but nothing too powerful. We recommend that you do not rely solely on the information presented here and that you always read labels, warnings, and directions before using or consuming a product. This has a light golden colour with a nose that is clean and fresh with a hint of sea salt almonds and spice notes are also present.

Citrus and brine enters on the palate, balanced with a hearty oakiness, which transitions nicely to a maritime finish with a pleasant sweetness.

Jura is located just 60 miles from the west coast of mainland Scotland, yet with its wild beauty, it feels like a world away. Our distillery was established in 1810 and reborn in 1963 to bring life back to the island and the community. Crafted in uncommonly tall stills, matured in the fresh sea air and American white oak bourbon barrels and finished in the finest aged Oloroso sherry butts.

Located on a remote island just off the West Coast of Scotland, Jura is an ancient landscape filled with wild mountains, peaceful lochs and stormy seas. One road, one pub and one distillery may not sound like much, but on Jura, the community thrives as one. A whisky only Jura could make, born on the island and still produced today in a bottle originally shaped to withstand the roughest of journeys from its home. Founded only in 1989, Bodegas Terras Gauda has quickly established itself as the producer of definitive Albariño, one of today's most fashionable white wines and an Eton Vintners bestseller. The palate is thick and full with more cereal, this time a barley fudge sweetness creeps in with creamy smoothness and a touch of aniseed. This liquid is collected in a receiver before being passed into the second low-wines or spirit still where the process is repeated.

While we have taken care in preparing this summary and believe it to be accurate, it is not a substitute for reading the product packaging and label prior to use. The last major rebuild of the distillery was in 1963, from whence it has been producing a variety of single malts. Eventually, all of the selected whiskies are brought together, pumped into vats, and then back into casks where they will rest for a further period of up to six to eight months. The art of blending is to produce a blended Scotch whisky, which is different from others, a little more subtle, a little more complex than the individual whiskies which have gone into the blend.
