When I come back, the consensus is "the senn hd280 is crap, has always been crap, and will continue to be crap" now I'm a bit confused as just 5 years ago it was considered quite nice. However, the ear cup joints are the weak points where these headphones are most likely to get damaged. As comfort and performance continue to be driving factors for those looking for new headphones, the HD 280 PRO’s are becoming more and more popular for those wearing headphones for long interviews and recording sessions. Unless mine are broken or they were grey market oddities then I don't know what accounts for the sound. After listening to them for about the 4th time, I realized that I wasn't happy with the sound at all.

The HD280 pro's feature a closed back over ear design so that you get a comfortable fit over your ears with great isolation from the outside world and also minimal sound spillage when you've got them on. Even tho I might not completely agree with your conclusions(try comparing them against some truly analytic/neutral ones), I do think the HD280Pro is a decent set of cans. The volume at which I listen to music on it has to be way lower than I thought, cause it feels like it's hurting my ears otherwise. You’re right about the 280; it can be rather dull sounding at times and I think for me it boils down to 2 things.
