The Dorgard SmartSound designed by Fireco is an innovative wireless fire door retainer device that allows you to hold open fire doors in a completely legal, quick and simple way. Dorgard is a wireless solution for use in all commercial properties, schools, hospitals, care homes and other residential environments where unhindered access and/or ventilation is a requirement. Dorgard also needs to be positioned low enough that the ferrule makes good contact with the floor when the plunger is depressed. In these environments, Dorgard SmartSound knows it would not hear the alarm and will close the doors. The separate controller, ProHub, can be wired directly into any fire alarm system and allows you to monitor all door units from a central hub.It has a built in audio-electronic device which will cause the plunger to retract when the fire alarm is activated, thus closing the door and ensuring fire safety is maintained. Dorgard listens for a continuous sound and will verify the alarm over a 20 second period and then release the fire door.
