If you take cards, you have to choose between taking all the camels, taking one card from the market, or swapping 2-5 cards between the market and your cards.

On your turn you EITHER attack this market, snatching up cards in an effort to make sets, OR you cash in a set. Jaipur never leaves players waiting between turns, you need to be constantly planning and ready for whatever your opponent might throw at you!I am for keeping track of what has been picked up, but 99% of the time the opponent will play against your starting hand rather than picking up an obvious card. It’s just as important to decide when to ditch camels as it is to decide when to take them, since you’ll unlikely ever get a perfect trade. This simple but satisfying blend makes Jaipur 2nd Edition a highly accessible choice – I have played it with a wide range of family and friends.

I’d forgotten about how you can guesstimate what cards will spill out from the deck based on what you’ve seen. Plus, what happens when you have two copies of three different goods in your hand (the hand limit is seven), and there are two copies of the goods you need in front of you? Overall, Jaipur is a fantastic mixture of risk, strategy, planning, and luck, resulting in an exciting and very well-designed game. The insert is one of my favorites, featuring a hot pink color and extremely well thought out recesses for all of the components.But at the same time, you know the market is going to be flooded with new things as soon as you hoover up the animals. It’s a really clever, fleshed-out hand management game with clever mechanics that would work really well completely separate from each other, let alone all tied into one!
