Compared to striped sunflower seeds, black sunflower seed for birds has a higher fat content and the husk is thinner, making it easier to remove by birds such as Greenfinch and Coal tit. Can't comment on growth rate or value for money etc as I haven't yet grown any of the seeds but if 50% percent of them grow to full size I suppose they're worth the money.
