About this deal

It kind of sucks that this would contradict the literal meaning of the words, but right now it sucks that it’s incredibly rare for a unit to stick around below Half-Strength for any length of time, meaning a whole bunch of rules are duds. I personally cannot wait however to try out the Hyperphase Crypt, as well as the Annihilation Legion.

I'll have to see about adjusting my list to accommodate this datasheet change the most since I used two kitbashed Crypteks for my units of Warriors. As veteran Necron commanders will know, the Monolith provides its own portal for Reserve units to enter the fray precisely where you need them.I’m relatively new to Necrons, picking up my first models following the Indomitus box for 9th Edition, and instantly fell for the army.

C’tan: The named C’tan get amped up even further, making them much more broadly compelling, and one of the detachments supports them particularly well. You can then spend your hard earned resources on Requisitions, gain Battle Traits and further awaken your tomb world! Three new Necron miniatures have been shown off already, from the remastered Imotekh and Orikan to a brand new translocating Overlord .Other than that, and I say this having only really looked at units I own, I'm feeling positive about how the Codex is looking. I have been playing Warhammer 40K since the 1990s, and have won multiple national events including Adepticon and GW GTs. Both books are very different in how they play, so let’s sit down, pull up a chair, and chit-chat a bit about what I like from each book.

For those Infantry blocks, you’ve got two upgrades – the classic Veil of Darkness, providing a once-per-game teleport for the unit, and the Nether-Realm Casket, which gives a unit Stealth. I don't think they are nearly as bad as some of the commentators have doom-saying, but they are going to have to have their players do some work to make up for an alright, but not brilliant codex.

With parts of the model missing as it phases out of existence I expected that the model would be quite complicated to build and paint, but honestly, I had very issues. Eldritch Nightmare is not as good for a brawling Destroyer unit, but still probably worth it – it forces a Battle-Shock test for all enemies that are in Engagement Range of the bearer’s unit at the start of the Fight Phase.
