About this deal

Targeting a broad age group, the channel used to play current popular music in the daytime and hits from its 30-year back catalogue in the evenings. EMI Asia has also released Now Dance (2000), Now The Essential Collection (2003), Now + volume 1 (2004) and Now + volume 2 (2005). In the age of discovery, fans trust NOW to bet right on artists who are ready to take the next step. often shortened to NOW) is a series of various artists compilation albums released in the United Kingdom and Ireland by Sony Music and Universal Music ( Universal/ Sony Music) which began in 1983.

Since the release of Now 102 in Easter 2019, the corresponding Now album from 100 volumes ago has been re-compiled and re-issued on 2-CD sets on the same day. I can only rate it 6/10 as a whole because of the large amount of filler but there are quite a few good tracks here. Many of these artists have gone on to become global superstars such as Billie Eilish, Shawn Mendes, Walk The Moon, Maggie Rogers, Rae Sremmurd, Zara Larsson, Jacob Whitesides, and Tate McRae. first reissued 2009 for the 25th anniversary, then again 20 July 2018 to coincide with Now 100) re-issued on 2CD (gatefold in 2009, jewel case in 2018), audio cassette, and a 2LP vinyl release. Beginning with the second installment of the series, repertoire was licensed from Universal, Warner and EMI.The idea for the series was conceived in the office of Virgin Records in Vernon Yard, near Portobello Road in Notting Hill, London, by the head of Licensing and Business Affairs at Virgin Records (1979–1990) Stephen Navin, and General Manager (1983–1988) Jon Webster. As we discussed on the session for Now 61 last week Andrew, there's lots of omissions that I know people will want to have played so to that end, I thought I'd start the warm up at 6:30pm so everyone can have a chance to play their favourites before we do the main session at 8pm as always biggrin. New girls on the block Pussycat Dolls took the charts by storm with this debut single in Autumn 2005 and went on to enjoy many other smash hits in the following year.

Warm up starts at 6:30pm, session gets going at 8pm as usual - with an added trivia quiz from yours truly on the artists and songs featured this week! What was disappointing from this time was the inability to include more than one song from an artist on the same volume, meaning that hits from Kelly Clarkson, Girls Aloud and Goldfrapp were missed off.
