About this deal

This new one doesn't live up to his predecessor's sculpt or design at all, but he does set a new high bar for articulation.

To show that off, 20th Anniversary Toad has a second head with his mouth open and several feet of tongue whipping about. MARVEL UNIVERSE IN 6-INCH SCALE: Look for other Marvel Legends Series 1 figures (each sold separately) inspired by the iconic Marvel Legends Series, including Iron Man, Hulk, and Captain America! We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. They do contribute to making what could have been a very basic feeling figure seem more visually interesting and more complex. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item.Sometimes they don’t really give you much more range than just a well-done regular hip, but these have been engineered quite well, increasing an already exceptional range of motion while maintaining solidity.

Toad is packaged with his hands balled into fists, but you also get a pair of fully splayed fingers to swap out. His booties have pointed toes, and the bits of cloth around his ankles and wrists are separate pieces. Over the past 8 or so years Hasbro has really been filling in the X-Men roster and Toad has definitely been overdue for a modern release. Toy Biz definitely moved figures around and reused things a lot, so Toad added an already designed villain figure with a recent bit of gained popularity into the line. The only downside I can think of is that the game's theme is really secondary to the gameplay/mechanisms.To celebrate the 2002 Toy Biz debut release, Marvel Legends proudly presents the 20th Anniversary Series 1, featuring Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, and Toad! I like the tongue head for a novelty, but I’m sticking with the grinning head for my default Toad head.

However, 20 years ago, we got…something that was kind of an action figure, but it was by no means up to the already high standards of the nascent Marvel Legends line. When he was introduced in the '60s, his only power was super-strong legs, which is what let him jump everywhere; the movie kept that, but also gave him a prehensile tongue and the ability to secrete some kind of sticky resin, and both those features were adopted by the comics. Please note: Virtual goods are eligible for PayPal Credit with the exception of electronic gift cards and software downloads. I’ve enjoyed the 20 th Anniversary figures, despite a few issues (like Cap’s shield-holes) but Toad is the winner and quite possible the biggest upgrade in the line.

You can definitely see what they were going for, and it's entirely possible whoever was hired to sculpt this was given that exact piece of art as a reference (and perhaps this one, which is also based on it).

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. His shaggy hair does keep his head from topping up very far, something he needs to be able to do if he's going to be looking up at everyone around him.
