A lightweight, tempo trainer usually has 3 main characteristics: a firm ride that makes it easy to go fast in, a weight below 215g, and a snug-fitting, secure upper. The Rebel 2 can both do as advertised and help you nail your speed days and workouts, but also bounce along comfortably for easy days. For longer runs, or longer workouts and threshold runs, I would tend to favor a shoe with a little more stack, even if it is not plated.

Eleanor: The support on the heel is a bit intense at times and pushes me to land more on the back of the shoe.
