About this deal

In cold and wet conditions, waterproof cameras are much easier to operate. Unless you have special gloves, most phone touch screens make it difficult to take photos without exposing your bare fingers. When it’s raining, most phone touchscreens treat falling raindrops the same as lots of fingers touching all over your screen. It can be quite frustrating to tell your phone to take photos when it treats every falling precipitation as an attempt to focus the camera or switch to a different app. That’s why even though your phone can survive getting wet, it’s no joy to operate a phone in wet or cold weather. It may be a moot point, but if you want a 100% full-proof way to prevent damage to your camera at the beach then leave your camera at home. There’s no guaranteed way to avoid dust and sand in your camera, so if it’s really important to keep it safe, you’re better off bringing a used model or your cell phone camera along instead. Heide and his colleagues are now working to add more computational abilities to the camera itself. Beyond optimizing image quality, they would like to add capabilities for object detection and other sensing modalities relevant for medicine and robotics. We’re working on incorporating many of these favorite features from the Nest app into the Google Home app over the next year. Diversity Champions Program Learn, share, and practice strategies related to diversity, equity, and inclusion Simplification was crucial for this photo. I’m not overwhelming the viewer with too much information. The minimum focus distance on the Olympus TG-6 is 3.9 inches vs. the Nikon’s 19.3 inches. This is despite the Nikon having a slightly higher (5x vs. 4x) digital zoom than the Olympus. What this means is you can focus more easily on close-up details with the Olympus. If your camera lets you change lenses, a lot of what I said above is even more relevant. If sand is flying around, never expose sensitive parts of your equipment. So, changing lenses on a sand dune — if it’s windy, at least — is not something I recommend. The first step is simple: Find some sand dunes. It might sound hard if you don’t live in the desert, but there are more dunes around the world than you might think. You probably have a good place in mind already. If not, you might be able to find amazing dunes somewhere that you travel.

Waterproof, with no housing needed, theHero7 is yet another adventure-ready camera fromGoPro. You can capture video from your summer adventures, with gimbal-like stabilization (without the gimbal!). HyperSmooth video stabilization keeps the shot stead, while TimeWarp video lets you create time-lapses of the settings. With SuperPhoto, the Hero7 will choose the best optimal shot in any situation, all while staying protected from the elements. Diversity and Inclusion Programs and Resources Fostering greater diversity in science and engineeringThe new Nest Cam (indoor, wired) offers three types of intelligent alerts right out of the box, no subscription required: people, animals and vehicles. Nest Cam Indoor uses a detachable USB-A / micro-B power cable and USB-A power adapter (both included in the box) to plug into an outlet for power. For all Nest cameras, the device’s LED status indicator will always show you when the camera is processing frames or someone is watching the live feed. All Nest Cam footage is encrypted while stored and in transit between devices or a data center.

Because of the nature of sand dunes, simplification is very natural. You aren’t working with complex, chaotic landscapes in the first place. It’s very different from something like a rainforest, or even a city. At Roger's company, they don't even part out unrepairable cameras with salt water damage due to the concern that there may hidden corrosion in those parts. Normally, those guys part out just about everything - even some full frame cameras with a single scratch on the sensor get parted out to repair other cameras in their vast inventory: These comparatively high-resolution images are said to be particularly useful in areas such as neurology, ophthalmology, ENT, cardiology, spinal injuries, urology, gynecology and arthroscopy. The low-power consumption of the camera means that less heat is generated, which allows for longer procedure duration and better patient comfort.

What do I need to consider?

The more wide-open the lens, the more light gets in, so you can avoid camera shake or issues in low light. The smaller the “f” number, the bigger the aperture, so f/2 is more open than f/8, for instance. If shooting with a higher “f” number (a smaller aperture, that is), you will have a greater amount of the photo in sharp focus – which may or may not be what you want.
