Lorenzini E, Mantellato R (2016) Electrodynamic tethers in space: dynamical issues, solutions and performance. In: Proceedings of the 14th spacecraft charging technology conference, ESA/ESTEC, Netherlands, 4–8 April 2016 View more people 1This estimate is algorithmically derived, and doesn't account for any specific improvements or changes made to this house. I have to admit that I have a mixed reaction to many of the Campion books, so I was pleased that I enjoyed this novel more than many of the previous ones - although Campion barely features in this mystery. Indeed, mystery it is - much more of a straightforward crime novel than some of the previous books in the series. Mantellato R (2015) Investigation of deorbiting systems using passive electrodynamic propulsion. PhD thesis The reader already knows what's happened, whodunit, and is privy to witnessing the perpetrator at work during the course of a day. The suspense comes in trying to understand the mind of this criminal and in watching how events play out so that Scotland Yard can not only figure things out, but capture this guy as well.

J Guid Control Dyn 19(5):1148–1156. https://doi.org/10.2514/3.21757 The plot itself centers instead around our criminal, Gerry, and the lovely old Polly Tassie – who he has been charmingly ingratiating himself to for years. We only really spend one day with Gerry, Polly, her niece Annabelle, and Annabelle's friend Richard. So very much unfolds in a rather cunning and tense way. LPICo 2109:6173 A controlled deployment test demonstrated the system capability to reel-out the tape following a reference trajectory; it has been found that the angular acceleration of the tape coil affects the attitude of the deployment module but does not influence the deployment profile. Similarly, a reel-in test demonstrated the capability of the proposed system to retrieve the tape. Murder is a word, a shibboleth. People get killed every day and sometimes it's called murder and sometimes it isn't. Sometimes it's war and sometimes it's accident, sometimes it's . . . well, it's just the logical conclusion of a sequence of events.” This book was the 16th outing for one of Alligham’s most famous characters, Albert Campion who allegedly was designed as a parody of Dorothy L. Sayers’ Lord Peter Wimsey. Again, this was the first of his stories I’ve ever read, and although he popped up constantly throughout the story, he didn’t seem to add anything to what was happening and his presence could easily have been missed. I guess you need to have perhaps read more about him previously to have appreciated his contribution. It is a thrilling study of a psychopath, thoroughly rooted in 50’s London and its atmosphere is so redolent of post-war seediness and criminality. It is a tale of human imperfection and self-deception.

Very different from the classic whodunit one expects from the golden age of crime as exemplified by Agatha Christie and Dorothy L. Sayers. There is no genius personality to solve the mystery, just solid detective work; no neatly assembled character list confined to set locations, just people introduced in dribs and drab across the sprawling city of London; we know the murderer right from the outset, the question is whether he will be caught. Valmorbida A, Mazzucato M, Tronco S, Debei S, Lorenzini E (2015) SPARTANS—a cooperating spacecraft testbed for autonomous proximity operations experiments. In: IEEE instrumentation and measurement technology conference, vol 2015–July 2015 I must have enjoyed the two previous Campion books that I've read well enough to prompt me to snag a third, though I don't remember them at all. Tether's End has languished in my book collection for over a decade. We meet Polly Tassie, one of Allingham’s marvellous elderly ladies. It is she who hides her eyes to Gerry’s evil nature and the awful truth about him…..until the end when Gerry tells her:Sanmartin JR, Martinez-Sanchez M, Ahedo E (1993) Bare wire anodes for electrodynamic tethers. J Propuls Power 9(3):353–360 I took Hide My Eyes on a three-day vacation with me, never having read anything by Allingham before. I knew that this wasn't a whodunnit (my favorite in the mystery genre) and I wasn't sure what to expect. Yu B, Geng L, Wen H, Chen T, Jin D (2018) Ground-based experiments of tether deployment subject to analytical control law. Acta Astronaut 151:253–259 is the estimated property value as of today. Let me tell you something: reading this alone in my hotel room at night, 1. I was unable to put it down and 2. I got really scared. Each time I heard footsteps passing my door I was convinced it was someone coming to murder me, no kidding. The final chapter set in a Museum of Oddities is as thrilling as the first. At the end, we do not know all; as the final sentence states: “There was great deal of work to be done”.After a battle with breast cancer, Margery died in 1966. Her husband finished her last novel, A Cargo of Eagles at her request, and published it in 1968. The characters in this novel are engaging and so well done! The young vulnerable girl just up from the country and needing a protector on her first real visit to London, the perpetrator of the crimes himself, hiding his cycnicsm and creativity with cover-ups beneath a respectable exterior, the nosy neighbor who is so helpful to police investigation, the good friend who makes promises (against her better judgment), and then calls the police anyway, the naive elderly lady who can't stop believing in the ultimate goodness of mankind.
