Wishy-Washy character has been featured in 20 short stories for early readers over the past 30 years. I love the illustration because it brings out so much detail and it also shows the enjoyment the animals have when they are rolling around and jumping in the mud. Then they sit down and "read" it independently, which is exactly what I want them to do at this stage of their reading journey. Such a short cute story and I watched a video of children performing in a play so if you make the characters the kids can retell the story in dramtic play time. She has written more than 500 books for beginning readers, many of which have been honored internationally. I haven't had too much time to check out Joy Cowley's other books but I've heard they're just as good.
